Oh! still have many in Ipoh?
Recently not so common... Is it like that rare? As far as I remember, people use them at Pasar Malam.
Oh! still have many in Ipoh?
VW combi, in bad condition also sell in 5 digit figures. Pasar malam or not.
Money talk first....lol
can say collector items d.
That is why is supply and demand market. People don't want price down, collector's market, price sky rocket......lol![]()
Just like AE86 price now... Or EK civic hatch. Coincidentally, same for 4G9 engines in this thread too.
50k for a GDB-A or GDB-B chassis version 7 din't sound too cheap. Isn't that the current market price for Version 7 or you are talking about few years ago? Currently, GDB-C,GDB-D,GDB-E Version 8 is also around 60 to 70k plus... Actually, I'm not even sure whats with Subaru's chassis naming for the GDB chassis. Version 8 had 3 different chassis code. I think they go by year or something.
A facelift to V9 costs quite a lot provided if they are original items. I've checked before the parts price for V9 front lamps, bumper, fenders... Few thousand even from halfcut...
From the sound of your description, perhaps the car had been involved in a major accident before? WRX STI should have a very stiff chassis but you say the car is swaying. That sounds terrible to me. As for power, I don't know what is your benchmark to measure its power. If it was me, I probably couldn't tell if it is underpowered or not since I don't know how powerful it is during its prime condition. In fact, I think I'm a fool for driving my underpowered Wira for 2 years without realizing until this year....I tested my friend's VDO 4G15 Wira before and that car feels slightly slower than mine... So, I thought my car was normal...
That valuable? Looks like I need to pay more attention to Combi if I saw one next time.
Since yours is a daily car, stock is enough I guess. Unless something broke down and then you can get a aftermarket/performance replacement part for it.
90s car is always my favorite era. But currently my dream car would be GDB-F/GDB-G Impreza WRX STI (Version 9). By the time I have enough money for one, that will probably be 10 more years later and cars in 90s will be even older... GC8 will be too old and difficult to source parts at that time...
Or maybe I will go for GRB/GVB WRX STI (Version 10) if their price is under 100k at then... Din't like much on the exterior looks of this but the interior seems more comfortable than GDB.

Same like 4G63T, during my time I think just started. I got at RM3.5k half cut, went up to around 7k a few years later. Now still expensive because very little left......lol![]()
haha no accidents, checked all that, owner is a dude who owned it in japan and brought it back with him... it was literally swaying, not due to the chassis, it was because of the engine not firing properly... if im not wrong, firing order was messed up, simple issue ==" (also why it was wayyy down on power) imagine the car swaying at the lights! whole car was rocking right and left. 50k for a gdb is actually alright, not expensive... most owners are trying to get more than that.
yep.. even a rusty quite bare unit will fetch quite a sum
2005-2006 V9 STI is quite affordable nowadays, only about 80k can get already. The one still rather expensive is the S204 versions which are still around 100-120k. S203 is also still quite pricey ,maybe around 90+k. Anyway all still cheaper than CT9A Evos, 8-9 particularly.![]()

I thought I read before someone said over there that 4G63T price had gone a bit lower due to lower demand since Evo proton cars are no longer allowed except Perdana? But I know 4G63T older models fetch a higher halfcut price than the newer terbalik 4G63T found in Airtrek, Evo IV onwards...
hahaha..... evos here, generally more aftermarket parts available kut...
still quite mahal... was trying to source one, an older evo4 halfcut (with some stuff not included) would still cost around 7k.... (didnt really try that hard to search so probably not the cheapest)

CT9A Evo IX seemed to have gone up in price lately. I don't think I have seen any selling around 90k plus anymore. Now I often see people selling them at over RM100k, some even nearing RM130k... 2 years ago, I still can see people selling it around that price while Evo VIII is around 80k plus usually. Now Evo VIII had even gone up to 90k for some... Is the demand for CT9A had suddenly gone up? But Evo VII price is still roughly the same...
S20 series WRX STI is a good deal like the S204 that gives carbon front seats. Previously there some recon S206 GVB Version 10 for sale and the price went until over 300k at around 330k. I don't think we can expect the price of that to drop to S204 or S203 level in anytime soon... But that one is a really great car... 19 inch stock wheels, 6 pot brembo just like R35 GT-R...

Because terbalik can fit Waja only and less people do that unlike the Wira....![]()
Evo IX prices is still relatively stable high. Actually about a few months ago there are 1 or 2 selling below 100k but not sure the conditions but they got sold off pretty quickly. Most are opening around 110-125 still and has been like that since the last 2 yrs or so, never go up but not go down much either. As for the VIII, the prices have been around 80-85 & got a few below 80 with the exception of the MR which sometimes around high 80 or even 90+, also quite steady since the last 2 yrs. VII though has dropped more, some just around 60-65, I think if nego hard can even get below 60. However people selling Evos seem to expect that their mods also counted for much, hence you can still see some VIIs still asking 70-80 coz they claim they've done lots of mods/conversion to IX. Same case with the VIIIs, there are a few still asking in the IX price range or even more due to the mods.
WRX prices on the other hand have been steadily going down, more like normal cars, even for the S versions. About 2-3 yrs ago, V9 prices are just slightly lower than Evo IX but now is a big gap already. Maybe because there are still new WRX made while Evo is already extinct and hence more becoming like a collector's car.

waja... satria neo, gen2, persona.....
i x paham... how one genius managed to shove the 4g63 from an e7 + the e8 gearbox in.... i was really impressed. According to him~ papers all in order
There is no limits, the good old paper RM can do.....hahhahhahahhaha![]()
Maybe I just happen to spot a few rare examples of cheap Evo IX for sale last time.
I agree with you that most Evo owners are selling the car with a higher price as they accounted for the mods they put in. Sometimes, by a lot more higher. Even modded WRX STI are probably 10-20k higher but I've seen modded Evo selling for over 30k higher. Like this one for example...

As far as I know, this Evo seems to have an unlucky history of keep being sold by its owners. I heard it is from Kelantan last time, then sold to an owner in Ipoh. After that sold back to Kelantan. Now being sold again. Perhaps 440hp on wheel is too powerful for normal use... On crank will probably be over 500hp... Hard to imagine driving this kind of beast on normal roads... To control its power and not to mention FC is probably crazily high. Even more than R35 GT-R maybe... Putting all that power on a 235/45/17 tyre... Shredding tyres every few months maybe...
I'm happy that WRX STI price is going down. Dream car getting more affordable. If STI price is going down, then for those WRX non STI will be even worse... Although not as powerful as the STI, but I think those WRX were quite a fine car... If you ask me, the latest generation WRX is the best especially in western market where they come with the new FA20DIT and can be matched with a 6 speed manual. Similar power with STI, but also better fuel efficiency.
