Following the recent 5.8 magnitude earthquake that had struck the Emilia-Romagna region of Italy on the 29th of May 2012 that had left 17 dead and hundreds injured, Ferrari had stepped up to play its part in helping to rebuild the community and assisting the victims of this natural disaster by holding an international auction to raise funds through the Ferrari online store.

The auction will be taking place next week, where those who are interested could bid on Ferrari’s <a title="Ferrari online Store" href="http://http://store.ferrari.com/en/">online store</a> with lots of items and merchandises being put up. And one of the most rare piece being put up be Ferrari is its non-homologated sports berlinetta, the 599XX EVO which is worth about £ 1.3million or RM 5.2million. Making its official debut back at the 2011 Bologna Motor Show, the 599XX EVO is a much more improved version of the 599XX as it has improved chassis dynamics due to its active aerodynamics package and 750 horsepower on the wheels. It has also shed a considerable 35kg from its original weight and adopts new Pirelli tires.

Besides of the 599XX EVO, Ferrari will also be putting up other Formula 1-themed items for auction which includes a V8 engine, racing suits and helmets donated by the Scuderia’s drivers, Fernando Alonso and Fellipe Massa, and a number of memorabilia items from the works racing cars from the previous seasons.

This is not the first time for Ferrari to reach out in helping victims of natural disaster. They had once contributed over 80 million yen or RM 3.2million to build two after-school facilities in ishinomaki, Japan after last year’s devastating quakes.
