Dear members/viewers of Zerotohundred.com, I know there has almost been no progress in the project, but I assure you that we just needed to sort out the legalities of appointing the chosen people that would help us out in the project.

So far, there are 2 great sponsors that have came forward and approached us for full support in our project. I bring you, Mr. Edison Wong from Top Secret Performance Automotive Services and Mr. Rahmat Rosli from Playhouse Garage Sdn. Bhd.

I have met these guys personally and I find them to be fully qualified to work on this project. Mr. Edison is starting up his new workshop in Sunway Damansara Technology Park and Mr. Rahmat has an existing business set up in USJ 1.

Mr. Edison has been working for another company in charge of providing services and repairs to most Japanese makes in the past. He has decided to venture into his new shop, where he will be able to give top quality sales and services support to his potential customers. I do hope that all of you from this page could actually be there and lend him a very good support, so that he is able to assist us in building our radical project car. I'd do more coverage on Edison's shop when his shop officially opens for business.

Here is the address for Edison's new business, it will open soon mid of June.

Top Secret Performance Automotive Services
21, Jalan PJU 3/45
Sunway Damansara Technology Park
47810, Petaling Jaya
Selangor Darul Ehsan

Mr. Rahmat, on the other hand, started this company with few other friends, who had the same vision of repairing very badly damaged rust-buckets and turning them from a dream to a reality. He has been tasked to repair and restore the "impossibles", like one of the very badly decapitated Datsun 240Z, grandfather to our Z31 project car, as seen in the photo below.

He's managed to get his hands on fixing really rare cars, like the Ford Mustang Coupe as seen below.
He strips out the interior from the mustang and patches all the rust holes he can find in the car. His job is definitely top notch and worth mentioning.

If you need some help with your rust problems, Rahmat can be contacted in the following address below:

Playhouse Garage Sdn. Bhd.
No. 47, Jalan Industri 1/5
Taman Perindustrian USJ 1
43650 Subang Jaya
Selangor Darul Ehsan
Malaysia.

Here's one interesting secret project that Mr. Rahmat is doing up for a client, a triple rotor 20B rotary engine powered car, which originally can be found in the Eunos Cosmo coupe. This is pretty rare and I believe this engine could murder lots of cars out there. Too bad, that's not our engine in the Z.

Since we have actually sorted out the guy's who will help us in our project, I'm doing further planning whether to leave the car as it is and have a simple body kit, or I should have a wide body kit to go with the car. Can anyone of you voice out or vote for your choices? It would be most appreciated.

dude, regarding d widebody poll thing, im not sure if everyone agrees with me, and im sory if i hurt any feelings by saying these things... but aren't we talking of a true supercar beater over here... im sure it has to look good, but please try not to make it too wide and hence, in need of any wheel spacers which would destroy the original vehicle dynamics... i love the Z... in its original terms, cuz its wayyy above the lot in it's times... and im sure u dont want to destroy some handling abilities... so dear bro, why dont u put some work into the suspension first (which shall determine the vehicle's overall height) and then settle in for some awesome custom bodykit??? im just saying, sorry if u believe otherwise.... n good luck wif dat sweetie bro, im praying for ur success :)))

satish much appreciated with the input, thats why its a simple yes or no. its good that u could state down reasons pertaining to the idea. i welcome constructive critisisms, its the best for the car design and purpose anyways. when u actually participate, i know theres people like all who are keen to know about this project and wanting it to finish. so i do hope that you can lend me a support, spread the news about this project and hope that we can bring this far and beyond.

relax bro , sure in the market now got many range of wheels with the right width and offset which makes spacers unnecessary :)

about the engine, does ZTH has anything against "Murtad" tranplants? cause 1j or 2Jz are good engines also ( and just for funn how about a 1UZ or nissan equal with 8 throttle bodies LOL)

I second your opinion , personally i prefer the classic to preserve its originality especially when it comes to looks ... Engine can be different but the car look should remain as original as possible if it wanna become a supercar beater ... So at least , after the revived Z overtook a supercar , at least the driver in the supercar can see that the "old junk" that overtook him is clearly a Z ... Just my humble opinion ... Keep the post updated ! Really like to see this machine rolling on the road soon ...

How much of the widebody kit would Playhouse be willing to work on as part of the sponsorship deal? Is it just a matter of you selecting which type and they'll do the rest or is price still a factor in you decision?

I love the first pic you posted - Toshi's RB26DETT Z31. Simple and shows off the nice clean lines of the original design. With a custom widebody, you'd be adding costs elsewhere for example rims and tires. Plus, if God forbid there was a mishap then surely a one-off widebody kit would cost a fortune to repair as opposed to something simpler?

no need to wide body, put some wide arch with offset rim should be nice!
or make it simple like in the pic below :driver:

i agree, i do kinda like toshi's kit, its perhaps the same, only has a headlights cover and nicely placed vented hoods, reminiscent of the ferrari f40, haha. lets hope someone could design it like that

engine: VG engines have great potential but they are a pain in the ass to work with, given z31's engine bay space constraint. straight 6 engines like RB (or JZ) are much easier to work with. plus most workshops are regular with these straight 6 engines compared to VG engines.

bodykit: IMHO, little K's z31 is quite nice already. just slap on the TBO front lip, custom some simple side skirts n add decent rear spoiler. this way, u will be able to slightly enhance the original lines. widebody actually hides the original lines of the car...

VQ engines are nice... Better in terms of space savings, weight benefits, weight distribution etc. But I think nothing beats the tunability of straight 6 especially the RB series and toyota's jz series! Plenty of aftermarket parts and tuning options...

widebody would be ok if its like pic below.. not to extreme..
userfile_1264_0.jpg

if not.. best would be like @Ahmad Afif pic he posted.. something like that is what Speedhunters hunts.. plus the stance.. love to see this project from start to the end.. sumthing like this should be documented as in video as its something worth to even be shown on Turbo Channel~

Kevin taikor,

When you mention about chassis repair, are you referring to chassis pull/straightening?

Or rusted panel replacement?

kelvin,
maybe you forgot about engine management...standalone ecu can cost a fortune.for me its the third most important element for this car apart from engine(labour) n bodywork

zaid, someone has pointed out that he will sponsor an hks f-con , so i think if the project goes well, he'd donate sincerely! lol

and what i meant about chassis strengthening, is the replacement of the chassis bar in one piece, for the rusted bits
