hi..

as i mentioned above... its tiptronic.. meaning got 2 mode.. full auto n semi-auto (the one with +, - gearchange)

roughly..
labour cost + halfcut cost = apprx. RM9k...

i can't remember exactly how much did i already spent...

but for registration from waja 1.8 to 1.6... no problemo!

Dump the triptonic and go full manual! mivec gearbox will give a good gearing ratio to compensate for the low end torque of this high-revving engine. Set aside at least 10K...

hi..

going to manual one of my faveret plan...
but i already consult some VTEC mechanic... they said auto-manual conversion not so 'successful' compared to manual-auto conversion... is it true?
they also mention bout a lot of $$$ involved and probably a lot of problem soon...
any specialist on this kind of conversion?

beside manual gearbox... what need to be done to convert from auto to manual?

Hi all,

i've visited a few mechanic... sourcing ideas on what to do to my mivec tiptronic w/out changing gearbox...

one of the suggestion is to put another 'chip' to existing ECU... it said that this chip will remove cut-off.. so dat my tiptronic mivec can rev up to 7k-8k... is there such thing?
FYI, the max my mivec tiptronic can rev just up to 5k only...

and summore.. how can i make sure my 'mivec' is working? is there any kind of test?

please advice.. still blur here

I think something wrong with u engine la, if it can onyly rev to 5000rpm. fYI, Stock Mivec activation point is 5300-5500rpm like that.

My previous lancer ck, max rev is 83++ rpm...until cut-off.

Hi...

about the activation point...

manual vs auto/tiptronic... the point is it same?

because it seems that my engine RARELY reach 5k RPM...

activation point 5300-5500RPM... is it standet to all MIVEC...?

mivec 1st gen & mivec 2nd gen... is it same?

any mivec 1st gen user to comment?

your view/advice would be greatly appreciated

cheers

Mivec 1st/2nd Gen got a bit different, but all sharing th same OEM Mivec open point. FYI, Mivec 2nd Gen has a higher torque, due to the taller bloc.k.as compared to 1st Gen. If u notice the OEM extractor/header also already different...even though the cc are the same.

As for manual/Tiptronic... All should be the same open -point. If it's true that your engine is rarely reached 5000rpm..then better checked fast. Even stock 4G15 DOHC tiptronic can easily rev to 6000rpm like that.

One more thing...don't fully trust the mechanic. Sometimes they are as culprit as we are!!!!.

Ben...somethin' Wrong With Your Mivec Activation Point. Check Your Wiring...ecu.....are You Still Using Waja Meter Or Mivec Meter..

I'm Using 6a12 (v6 Mivec - Fto) In My Waja 1.8. With Fto Meter And Wiring. No Problem At All. Enjoying It Every Moment!!!
