Guys, how do you increase the top speed of your car? Is it by more bhp or torque or change gear ratio or increase fueling?

dennis gonna revenge the wira aeroback kah?? ehheheehehehhee:D

find a way to increase your torque bro, it always help.

hahahaaa.. 1st of all the most important thing is.... remove ur speed cut 1st.. else wut u do also no point hahhaahaaa :D:D:D

there's quite a few things to do

at this speed: you'll need massive torque or hp

since that's quite ridiculous to get, sure, 300hp is nice
aerodynamics is the next best thing.

you'll need to clean up your car's aero:
1)side mirrors
2)remove wing and replace with low-drag config
3)flat under-tray with low-drag diffuser
4)close up useless holes in bumper
5)with the diffuser you'll need a 'high' rear bumper
6)remove wipers.

minimise friction drag with smaller rear tires, narrow ones. maybe 185/60 R14?
fronts also needs to be narrower, too much grip! 195/55 R15.

these measures maybe extreme, but this is the 'normal' things to do if you wanna go straight, FAST.

For those who mentioned Hp is a figure and torque is all that matters, you're dead wrong. Torque is all about accelaration and moving your car. Torque determines your rate of accelaration. So without horspepower, all you can get is a high amount of pick-up speed and your car will stay at a stagnant speed after it runs out of juice ( in this case, HP) Horsepower & ratios affect your top speed not torque.
So before you think bout getting ridiculous amounts of torque which is totally impossible, think again.

Hey man, this is really an extreme MOD! lol~

Sigh.. Fred.. if u were in my shoes/driver seat, you would understand...damn malufying man!!

That fella looked damn stock. No IC, no big ass exhaust.. just a twin tip exhaust.
Sound of the exhaust also not loud...only the engine sound loud when he tekan. I saw some white smoke coming out of his exhaust when he tekan.

Do u think it was NOS or a Supercharger?

ah...

i think i know that dude

full blueprinted engine with proper this and that :)
stock piping somemore! :D

dennis, like stan said..engine blue printed, full race cams, adj pulleys, pnp...many cars on the road now u look from the outside is fully stock but when press (OH MY GOD)...u are smoked!!. with just only semi race cams and adj pulley..one of my colleagues reach 190kmh on his old saga in just 54 secs..and i saw his video inside the car when his friend record it..dennis 190kmh in 54 secs..my eyes also pop out when i see that video. and his is also stock standard, only some sport rims, some exhaust and hwl adjustable..thats all from his old junk.

so i dont think his is a supercharger and neither is running on NOS.

cheer up bro, not everyday u kena smoke one ma...ehehehehehhehe:D

Yo Dennis... I got smoked badly by a stock looking red Wira SE Aeroback before also... fella pulled away from behind of me like I was braking. No turbo whine, no intercooler, no loud exhuast, only a silent grunt from the engine. Sounds like stock airbox. Maybe NOS or something...
The best part: It was in 3rd gear acceleration. Takut boh!? :D

How about the 2 of us go talk to Gerard and see if we can get a group discount. :D

Hi Zeroed,

Who is Gerard and what he offers? I'm new here. Kind of blur when see you guys reply that.

Yeah. I think lots of cars out there are with cams and ported polished head cause these two does improve lots of power. However, I believe top speed can be accomplished based on both HP and torque improvements + weight factor as well. Torque must compliment the HP values and vice versa. Removing additional tyre, replacing bonet with carbon fiber, smaller and less grip and less surface tyres, remove chairs, replace windows with plastic, remove speed/rpm cut, more fuel and more air into the engine at the peak RPM will also help isn't it?

Heya Wajafly. Welcome to the forums. :)

Gerard is the guy who developed, and is still developing the supercharger kits for Proton engines. Currently he offers a tested, reliable and proven kit for 4G93 engines. You can check his thread here.

Other than those steps mentioned above, I believe one more effective way to increase top speed is to have an effective air-ram. I suppose a large diameter piping race-craft cf shielded air filter is a good example... even Ferraris utilize air-rams to give their cars extra oomph. An effective air ram is difficult to set up though. I think I read somewhere that at 100 or 120mph the F575 got an additional 20hp from the air ram, but the effect on top speed would probably be more significant than what the figure suggests.

Off topic:
I agree that cams and PnP gives tremendous hp, but the car I encountered couldnt have had those kinds of power output using cams and stuff... to have overtook me with that kind of acceleration it had to be forced induction or nitrous. But it had no tell-tale signs or the whistles of turbochargers so...
