guys.. wat is ur car voltage when idle? wats de highest voltage u can get?

my car seems getting lower voltage nowadays... i guess de battery going to be dead soon.. altho i still can start my car smoothly without any probs..

b4 start its a bout 12V.. after start.. at idle its fluctuating from 12.5 - 13.5.. when driving.. it its at 13.5.. if at nite.. is lesser.. bout 13V.. i think it is very low...

any comments?

i think that is normal... above 14 consider battery kong soon eh... coz the alternator keep charging ur battery and like never full one. if didn't start the car and on light and music... the voltage drop then it means battery not enough need to charge again. (this is wht i think only... i dunno any theory about this)

i looking at the voltage at my audio capacitor... when off audio, 13.5v. On audio 14.4v.... b4 start car never see... cannot monitor every time.. coz it is under my seat. hahahaha.... i notice one thing... when off ignition key.. the capacitor looks like discharge back to the battery... voltage dropped to 8volt and off.

and i have a hard time to start the car... at least took me 1.5-2sec.

yah...i truly support DIY.. wat i mean is not all ppl can do wiring properly.. if u r not sure with wiring.. dun play play.. u can just short-cicuit something in ur car..

n dat may cost u much more... rather then giving acc. shop do it...

u can learn from those ppl...then next time can DIY lor...

anyone else installed a voltmeter??

care to share ur car voltage when
1. idle (engine n battery cold)? - 14.4v (de highest achieved)
2. idle (engine warmed-up)? - 14.0v, sometimes down to 12.5v
3. engine off? - 12.0v to 12.5v (old batt)
4. when driving? - 13.0v t0 14.0v
5. at nite(with lights on)? - 12.5v to 13.5v

i noticed de autogauge meter readings is less by 0.3V compared to my cheap digital multimeter.. n de place i tap de voltage (cigarrette lighter socket) is lower by 0.2V compared to de battery terminals.. so i have to add 0.5V for de real voltage...

ehem, me back!
by ur reading bro, about 12V, a bit low la
but wats this 1-5 thingy? izzirt ur real readings? cos i read prevuiously u mentioned 12V plus minus then its low. u might need volt stabilizer, which i incidentally have oso  :P :P
ok more serious, u got wat electronics in ur car ? just to check ur voltage requirement etc.?
if 1-5, then ur fluctuation a bit high lor

well.. de 1-5 is de real readings... (de meter reading plus 0.5v)

dat day when u test de meter u already said de voltage is low.. dat is due to de meter u seling me is less by 0.3V...

well i think its bcos of my old battery lar... wanto change it soon.. my battery at de +ve terminal there got a small crack liao... duno y...
