Paint Striper (Paint Remover) is heLL acidic so please handle with great care!I accidentally spilt a few drops on my face and arms and it burnt like flame! But it did a charm to removing paints.
I brushed the paint removed onto the rims, inside and out to get a thorough strip-off, washed with detergent and rinsed off with water. Let dry under blistering hot sun before I evened off the surface will putty filler. Let dry again before water-sanding it with sand paper of 500 grit.
I started off with a couple layers of primer, I personally think the paint sticks on and lasts much longer on primer than raw metal, but that's just my own 2 cents, I'm not a pro hehe..
Let dry again, then apply the desired paint, and end it clear coating.
Mine turned out like a charm and it lasted and stayed on like a leech, all the way and went along with me sold car.
Happy DIYing!
