See some flame here :rofl::wavey:

OK, if your sis wanna buy rx8, buy the new version from Bermaz with 3 years warranty (if I'm not mistaken, 3years/100k km). New version more suitable for town use, including the gear ratio, revised engine parts and etc. Actually rev or don't rev, it is all depends on your wallet and also if Bermaz does provide Zoom-Zoom cleaner engine cleaning service. But don't know why my 2004 model always give me a CEL of system too rich when I drive like a turtle before warming up while looking at my sexy neighbor's daughter :banghead:

But I think your sis should just get a mini cooper because the blind spots are lesser and BMW service centers are almost everywhere in Malaysia.

Honestly Pisang GTR, if you posted this on the Altezza or Caldina thread, you'll probably not get an opinion on the RX8 :)

I guess what you get depends on who you ask lor... u ask Mazda fan, sure they say Mazda good. U ask Caldina fans, Caldina is king. You ask Altezza driver, Altezza is the best. So, whatever comments you read (incl. mine), take it with a pinch of salt ler.

At the end of the day, do your research, test drive the car and decide.

maybe u should post it at the 1000 or 2000cc category..
post in toyota forum enough already, sure get positive comments on caldina n altezza..
but the rx8 or 350z thread which i linked in previous post, even tho its posted in mazda category, people still say 350z is better..
good sign for your sis to test drive these cars and make her choice for herself..
its her that will end up behind the wheel, :driver:
not us

hah hah!! No need to confuse.

One thing i've notice is those who want to buy sports car within the mid 100k range will definitely look at both RX8 and 350z. Those who choose the RX8 are mainly due to:-

- cheaper road tax
- better handling
- 4 seater + bigger boot
- rotary
- like the look

Those who choose 350z :-

- more powerful engine
- v6
- like the look

So really, its all about what you want. It's not really fair to say RX8 is better or 350z is better. IMHO, all this "my car is better than your car bull$hit" is overrated la. Just pick a car that suits your purpose the best.

In my case, I gotta small family, so 4 seats and a usable boot is very important. I also don't wanna pay roadtax for 3.5ltr car... too much strain on wallet  So, naturally, the RX8 is the car that is "best" for my needs.

On the other hand, if you want a car to mod for power, forget abt the RX8. Not that it can't be done, but its just too expensive compared to the 350z.

So, ask your sis, whats "best" for her. Then makes it easier to choose.

I don't know what criterion your sister looks for in a car, surely cannot be good looks becos if based on looks, Altezza has none, plus it looks outdated.
wow bro what do you mean by this? i bet you've never seen an Altezza before.

Anyhow, the RX8 is good if you have, provided the money to maintain it and feeding it with fuel, compared to other cars. You already had so many opinions on RX8s so i won't go any further.

Caldina... I've heard the Turbo version has only 4 gears, so it drinks fuel quite a bit. But it's a good car anyhow.

Altezza, who says it's outdated? No power? We've smoked a few RX8s (auto) before so don't diss the Tezza just yet. Drop by the Altezza forum and we'll kindly help you sir. :)

I like the look of the Caldina - very aggressive styling. I've seen some samples around with nice bodykits and wheels.

If your sis wants the Caldina, suggest she find a GT4-N version with a sequential auto gearbox, recaro seats and all wheel drive, though the last one might just bring fuel consumption up....

Caldina has quite a strong owners club here as well. Might be good to ask around that forum for advise.

IMHO, stock altezza is starting to show its age. Design wise looks like the evo 7- 9 era. Not exactly old, but not new too. However, with a nice bodykit, it'll certainly command some presence.

Well it's all personal preference. If you don't mind joining the stream of the many RX8s and Caldinas around then it's up to you. I wouldn't say the Altezza is exclusive but it is less on road. So yeah, if you prefer something that is a lil different.

Yes, a stock Altezza is showing it's age, no doubt. But it still managed to turn heads around everytime the Tezza pass by, and people will go, "what car is that?". Well yeah, any car with a nice bodykit will certainly boost up it's appeal.

Brother, just narrow down your list into "rx8" and "altezza". But for girl, Rx8 look nicer ^_^
Anyway, ask your sis to look on other car such as Mini cooper, VW beetle or VW golf GTI, especially GTI!

PisangGTR,

most importantly is what she wants. yeah i agree girls would love the RX8 more because it's almost a 2 door and it's sleek looking. but it's just too mainstream. :)

end of the day is what she wants, practicality, power, and such.
