Old School Cars Discussion

I'd like to think of it as keeping the atf fluid temp stable instead of fluctuating rather than cooling down :smokin:

atf can get heated up too, if not why people fit atf cooler.
From the diagram you can see the atf in and out is at the bottom of the radiator, that is the cooler part of the radiator. Hot water from engine come in at the top, and cooled water goes back in from the bottom....:driver:

Ya i understand the need for atf cooler. As for the stock one, I doubt that it can cope up with hard driving :hmmmm: so in away imho i think that it is more to keep the temp stable instead of fluctuating up and down constantly. My old 91 autobox had that too hahah

actually i never knew they shared the radiator for cooling.... until i got my car and was curious as to why there were tapped off points on some units.

Well, still better than not having any cooling at all......:driver:

Remember that orange SR20 AE86 that price drop to 59K? Well that joker now wants 79K, good luck to him ! Wonder where he gets his logic from. Worse still he now admits its an AE85 converted to 86.

Youngster mah! see aggressive thread pattern sure like.
Tyre shop always pushing what can make money not what is right for your car. Especially got old stock sure try to sell that first. I have been to so many tyre shops I know their tactics.....lol
Those shops that the bosses knows me, mostly talk to me and ask what I want. They don't let his workers talk to me. Got one time, heard the shop supervisor who knows me tell his worker not to bother talking to me about tyres, he knows what he wants.......hahhahhahha
That is why many apps and ask me first or even ask me to go along to check out tyres at the shop..:driver:

lol next time i need tyres... i know who to carilah

Wow, instead of lowering the price, this seller raise it up even higher. Maybe he thought he can go along with the recent price hike in goods, fuel and drop in RM value.

AE85 chassis. Any major differences in this bare chassis compared to AE86? Like maybe chassis stiffness or something?

Get R888 like one student in my university. Driving E90 3 series but using R888 on all 4 tyres. Daily driven too.

Yes AE85 has a less stiff chassis. For sure worth less.

So, AE85 is like what those normal EG hatch without DOHC VTEC compared to EG6.

was told the eg6 has no actual structural differences from any of the other eg hatchbacks.

Seems like a case of mind struck "since its very old must be collectible" .
Well I believe in time they will find out how un-collectable these cars really are when no one calls up haha.

Interested in them?

The engines don't seemed to be stock. The sample pic for Cedric is funny. The one on sale is far away from the sample pic from Japan.

At this kind of price if I want to play with turbo RWD car, I would just go for RPS13 180SX or S13 or S14 Silvia.

Really? Then that doesn't justify the expensive price of original EG6 chassis being sold out there. The Honda fellas are always like that. When they come in blue tag for their chassis number plate, they seemed to hike up the price just because they are imported from Japan.

haha!

Yup, trying to sell as classic but must be mint and original.
Like that in 10 years time I can raise my VR price.....lol:rofl:

Well not all classics are collectible . To me the cedrics, gloria and crowns arent cars that people want to collect because they are "cars for old men" even back in the 1970s and 1980s.

The scene for these old large sedans are not popular here. But in Japan, they seemed to be quite popular as a lot of them are present during gatherings.

At the end, Honda price in Malaysia are overcooked. And no signs of price getting lower either... We see prices of Fairlady Z, RX-8, Celica, Impreza WRX STI going down but not old Civic.
