yea but some said Hamilton got it easy cause the drivers in McLaren share data, and so he's been plugging from Alonso's setup and thats been working out pretty well for him. Makes up a lot of ground and inexperience to take setup data and telemetry from the current world champ at every circuit.

and also of course the "adapting to Bridgestones" argument... Hamilton & Massa didn't need to re-adjust/programme their brains like Alonso & Kimi.
But just by looking at the last 2 races, a journalist reported that the big guns are back! Kimi and Alonso were both quicker than their teammates both in France and England. Hamilton actually finished 30seconds behind Alonso. Which shows that these two are now more comfortable in adjusting their driving and setup to the Bridgestones. We're in for an exciting 2nd half of the season when they claw into Hamilton's lead.

too bad hamilton crashed, but it was definitely not due to his error.

Basically the idea is that Hamilton jumped right into a competitive, championship caliber car right in his debut year. He's rather lucky in that respect.
yeah, we all just bear in mind that Alonso started his career in a Minardi. same team that Alex Yoong drove for in 2004. and he was so used to be one of the backmarkers and was overtaken again and again. he had paid his respect.

daniel Lee,

what i meant by starting with the best team is referring to Mclaren and Ferrari..
they have been constant for the past 10-15yrs..
renault for example, they need that magic to charge the championship once in a while....
not any team we can call as consistent. Renault won only for 2 years, Ferrari was most consistent with 5 consecutive seasons but they were nowhere for the previous 20 years, McLaren had a few years, Williams 2 and Benetton also 2.

1994 - Benetton-Ford (Schumacher)
1995 - Benetton-Renault (Schumacher)
1996 - Williams (Damon Hill)
1997 - Williams (Jacques Villeneuve)
1998 - McLaren (Mika Hakinen)
1999 - McLaren (Mika Hakinen)
2000 - Ferrari
2001 - Ferrari
2002 - Ferrari
2003 - Ferrari
2004 - Ferrari
2005 - Renault
2006 - Renault
2007 - ??

guess Hamilton finally ended his run of podiums, at least the chap is optimistic about it, saying that he has learnt much more in this GP than in the previous 9

it was a wrong move of him to go for slicks when everybody else's still on full wets and ending up having a hard time controlling his machine..he gambled and he lost..
for once he was being a rookie..
the best show from him was when he rounded Giancarlo from the outside..

He should have waited a bit longer before getting into slick tires.
The track contained still water as he changed to slick tires.
