Turbocharged 20V Blacktop

Hello 20V enthusiasts out there,

As we know, we always heard from others turbocharging their 4AGE, but seldom hear about turbocharging 4AGE BT. Are there limitations to turbocharging this power plant? To turbocharged it, what are the aspects that needs to be considered, and all the necessary parts and components to be upgraded.

Hope this sharing session will be fruitful to all of us out there wanting to turbocharged their 20V BT.

finally - output not sure...really can kick ass or not (but for sure better than NA)
 
better get a 4AGZE & turbocharged it.. easier..

if i'm not mistaken, to turbocharge a BT, u need 4agze piston & conrod, customized intake & exhaust manifold, buy an intercooler, wastegate, blow off, injector, etc etc..

if u wanna play force induction, get a 4AGZE.. & turbocharge it

like my fren here..

really?

mayb my fren has sold it.. it was on sale a few months ago..

he live in seremban.. & he's an army & definitely not chubby.. :biggrin:

lost his no.. so can't reach him.. :banghead:
 
beside change to the supercharger piston, conrod. U need an ecu like microtech. If not the 4age bt turbo won't last long
 
the is turbo kit from Blitz, and if you are lucky, you can get it fitted on 4AGE from Japan. try check with alvin/tom's. saw the post sometime ago. but sitting in BT+turbo.... is a priceless feeling... dont forget to get bucket seat as well...
 
Have to customize inlet manifold due to the ITBs. And who in Malaysia can calculate nice flow manifold esspecially for ITBs.

i think they can copy the original plenum and make it in steel, iron, aluminium or whatever..

but that's gonna cost u bigtime..

I think BT turbo is a gem... 4A-GZE is strong, but lacks the BT head with VVT. What I've seen online, people low boost a stock BT with thick metal head gasket. Another one did the same but changed his rods to SVT rods and pistons because they are thicker. And the ultimate one I've seen, moderate boost with 4A-GZE internals (pistons, rods, crankshaft). Not usre how much this makes. But the low boost one can already make about 300 hp.
 
low boost can reach 300bhp?? that's like an increase of almost 100% from a BT.. if only there's a thread that tells us how to turbocharged a BT the right way, that would be nice..
 
I think no one in their right mind will reveal their business secrets for free. You dont need the blitz turbo kit to turbo your 4age. I think if you are really serious you can contact Danny to see if he has any idea.

Ya but boost is only a rough way of seeing things... Maybe he got massive flow, who knows? Show yo one example... Maybe you've heard. This guy is quite famous over then net for his 300 hp corolla from 4AFE. I think BT turbo should be about the same. Just that use BT. He got a list of things that he itemised out. A lot are taken from different family of the 4A engine. Mainly 4A-GZE

i am using turbocharged 4AGE blacktop with 1.3bar boost and 300hp on wheels. Let me explain what parts are needed. I have listed down the parts i used based on my memory..

here it goes..

Engine Modification (all parts are original)
4AGE – 20v Blacktop Engine - fully overhauled for racing during modification
8.9.1 4AG Super Charger pistons and con rod
JASMA aftermarket light weight crank pulley
Toda light weight flywheel with Blacktop C56 gearbox (custom made double/twin cluth)
Toyota Genuine full overhaul kit
KING piston and con rod bearing
Custom made plug cable (vendor claimed better than NGK)
NGK spark plug
1Jz injectors
Walbro Fuel pump
Aluminum air intake for 4 throttle box (imported from Thailand)
ARC Racing Intercooler (Delta-fin)
HKS SQV Limited Edition BOV
Tial 38mm 1.0 bar wastegate
Garrett AR50 Turbo
Custom exhaust manifold
Apexi Intake
SARD Fuel regulator
D1-Spec oil catch tank
Haltech E6x management system with Microtech ignition controller
Apexi Boost Meter
Aluminum radiator with Fordge racing high-speed fan

TIPS: Please make sure you set rev limit not more than 9k, mine is at 8k because 20v has smaller valves retainer than 16v. if 16v you can rev up to 9.5k.

Gear box must have LSD, mine wheel keep spinning from 1st-3rd gear using 17".

Yes bro. is a must to change ECU because the stock ECU cant control the new system from NA to turbo at all..

17" wheel and still spinning? that's plenty of torque u hv there...
