How to solve my car check engine light? Mine is EK n just recently engine swap to B16A halfcut with Spoon chip(no fuel cut) n Spoon vtec controller. After the swap n i try to drive it, when in first 1st gear try to push to 2nd gear(miss gear) the check engine light blink in front of my mechanic. He said i accidently overlap the engine. After that it blink like hell when i try to push my car every time i try to accelerate it. Up to now it almost a week the mechanic still trying to fix it including change every sensor. Only the Ecu havent change yet cos unable to find one. Some said due to overlap might rosak the piston ring..

Sifus out there plz help me cos my car already in the workshop almost a month n i really miss it.

wait.ur mechanic know how 2 swap d engine in but dono how 2 diagnose wats d problem by reading how many times d chk lite blink(s)?.......my goodness....
whn dis happen again,try 2 count how many times d chk lite blink(s),ok???thn only can others in here help u.....
note:if it blinks w a delay in it,it means 10....
eg:delay blink 1 time+blink+blink+blink(in succession)=error code 13.....
now go n count...

Actually he is a experience mechanic in modified turbo car and vtec but i dont know why he wants to change almost all the sensor. He should check like u said count the check light blink, he should know this...OMG.. But i notice that the check light did not blink but just on like that...
I didnt see what he doing cos i am now outstation. The check light is on any time whenever i step the acceleration pedal hard, example, when in 3rd gear cruising 40km/hr then step the pedal hard until u can hear sound like no power and here is it the check light on...Hopefully he can solve the problem..

Seems like a builtin shiftup indicator like STI at preset rpm. The spoon chip came with the halfcut?

well,like u sed it..if he's experience & competent enuff,he shudn't b doin trial & error by changing all d sensors..shud pin point d problem.....
u sed d chk lite just lite up n doesn't blink..can i assume dis means error code 10?if it is,thn d problem shud b "10 IAT - intake air temperature sensor "...
dis i got frm y database..dono correct o not......
hope u solve ur problem quick.....

I dont know wats he doing all the time fixing. He told me by phone. The last option he wants to change is the ECU. And he cannot find one for me. That all he tell me about this. I will let him solve the problem see what i can do. My neck begin to feel longer everyday waiting for the problem to solve..haiya!!

apexivafc04.... to get the code u need to jump the socket first. check engine light (cel)illuminate just to inform you there's something wrong. then u need to jump socket n wait for the blinks.

codes u can find everywhere on the net. at honda-tech n superhonda they have them

agree with akuma..good mechanic don't do try and error..he lost already
there's 1 reason why the mechanic did'nt or cannot check the error code..performance ecu/chip already bybass some code so some failure cannot be read through ecu
...so get an original ecu and start diagnose again..

guys..i oso suffer from same problem..'check engine' light always 'on' after a while e.g.after hit 50kmh....so how to relate these error code to the light?

I agree with u also due to the performance chip/ecu the mechanic cannot check the error code and thats why he had to changed every sensor. Just now he said had changed another sensor, he said is a Vtec sensor, i dont know which one.. and he has test drive my car and no check light on again..i cannot test drive my car cos im still outstation..this is the 2nd time he said no check light on again after some sensor changed but when i ask my friend to test drive it the check light on again..really dont know if i want to believe this mechanic again..(headache). He even said my friend dont know how to drive my car that make the check light on..he said this is not the way to drive a car...aduh! really pening kepala!

I really miss my babe(car). Its been a week long hoping that he had fix the check light on. Today i will ask my friend to test drive again to see whether any check light on again. Hopefully the mechanic has found the problem.

Its every one dream especially Hondarians to own a powerful Vtec engine just like me bought a EK about 2 years ago and try to jimat duit to buy a Vtec halfcut and after convertion,now see what happen to my babe(car), i am really dissapointed.

dun be so sad... problem is about ur luck... if u r lucky enuf then u might getting hafkat without any single problem... but that will be 1/1000....
like me, when my car finish the conversion and painting, the distributor kong... then spend more money to get replacement.

Kong becoz you lenjan 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th and even reverse gear till 9,000 RPM !! muerekekeke

Yes, im really in bad luck..1/1000..At least you know what is the problem..but mine aiyah!!

OMG.. just inform by my friend, he test drive my car today and the check light is still ON..
how can this happen again, the mechanic said after changed the vtec sensor there should be no such problem again..so i call him he said to check again...how can??
