Guys, I need a guide.
I tried to install UR rear ARBar on Savvy but the rear suspension there got springs blocked me to screw the nuts:bawling:
May I know how to remove the spring? What tools should I need to do the job?

Thx:proud:

Muahaha... there's a spring clamp ppl use to compress the spring when need to remove the spring...

Or u, can do this...

But could be DANGEROUS if wire is not strong enough...

1) Lossen the wheel nut
2) Jack up the car and remove the wheel.
3) Use a second jack to compress the spring below the rear axle bar.
4) Use steel wire to tie the spring about 30 loops. As much as u think it's safe to hold the spring reaction force.
5) MAKE SURE u know the end of every end of the wire tightly.
6) Then release the 2nd jack. U should realize that the spring is still under compression.
7) Then take out the spring lor..

Erm... i just install arb in my wira, bigger diameter will stabilize your ride but also more understeer if you using not so grip tyre, you need to have a better tyre and alignment to make it a good a combination...

just sharing experience lah... : )

Well, an antiroll bar, as the name says, it's to prevent antiroll... the effectiveness of an antiroll bar also depends on the method it's being mounted.

Example.

EVO 2 & 3 : 17mm direct mounting system.
EVO 1 : 23mm Indirect mounting.

But u'll notice that EVO 2&3 having better handling than EVO 1. The way EVO 2 n 3 mount their ARB also improves the caster angle of the front wheels.

This is how it's differenciate. U know, the satya bushes..? THose are the indirect linkage using rubber bushes as connecting media. In order to upgrade the stock ARB into a better effectiveness, people might change to PU bushes. They are stiffer and have better durability compare to the OEM rubber bushes.

So, the ARB is mounted via the linkage indirectly to the lower arm.

However, when using direct mounting. The ARB is mounted onto the Absorbers instead of lower arm. Which highly increase the effectiveness of the antiroll bar. The linkage is mounted via a pillow ball directly onto the ARB and absorbers.

No Bushes needed except for the main bush on the cross member.

90% of wira uses indirect mounted ARB. But, the WIRA SE 1st batch uses direct mounted. those with 4 disc brakes.

For better explaination, U can check this discussion on my previous post when i was selling my 1.6 stock antifoll bar.

Well, cause when converting an indirect mounted into a direct mounted system, if a car is not using absorbers that are ready for direct mounted, owner needs to change absorbers.

So, not everyone are not prepared for that budget. Being a manufacturer, they have to consider the budget for the consumer. Not only for high budget automotive enthusiate. So, they need to produce Plug N Play range product for the consumer market.

There are always contradiction between comfort and handling. U have to sacrifice either of them. Well, a complete upgrade to balance the comfort and handling of the car may require a big budget.

It's not as difficult as you think but it's always good to let the professional hands to do it with professional tools and equipments.

RM30 is what you may need to pay. Better still, buy your parts from a dealership who can install it for you. It would probably be FOC if you got the right one.
