My bad. I saw the dual rockers and had a brain fartThe 4G54 is a single cam engine.
I wish it was twincam...lesser fuel required to run it maybe?

Bro, i have campro head . sorry for off topicView attachment 574041 Update;
Valves are grinded, carbon cleaned and sent to be resurface...All too shiny, belong in a display cabinet;
Cost RM30 to resurface.
hahaha...i also dunno.Bro, i have campro head . sorry for off topic
Based on the manual, only can skim up to 0.2mm max.
Based on measurement using straight edge and thickness gauges, my head warped 0.08mm
How to determine/know the foreman/specialist didnt resurface more than 0.2mm.
How about ur case? How much the guy skim ur engine head?
i seehahaha...i also dunno.
i guess they just resurface the thing judging from the cheapo cost.
Anyway, car has been running for 2 weeks now and teppet is adjusted again last weekend. Syiook, now properly feels like a 2.6 petrol.
Agreed, last Sat drove the Pajero for 'slight' offroading while trying to find a piece of land which we failed.the good thing DIY.. everything can be inspected and cleaned properly prior to re-install
Those days they got by sound. If chain loose/elongated , will have noiseguys,
how do i check timing chain condition?
usually can feel performance drop, sluggish low end, noise, and usually around 200-300k timeframeguys,

The noise is significant so i guess better change it. The engine also have a 'silent chain' which i think runs the oil pump.usually can feel performance drop, sluggish low end, noise, and usually around 200-300k timeframe
Very cheap. How much for labour?Update,
My bro changed the timing chain, silent chain and their sprocket. Tensioner also changed. There are groove on the chain guide and tensioner. Will post pic later.
I wonder why we did not detect this during the top overhaul.
Last saturday i went to see the car and notice he was working on it and i thought he was putting everything back together. I was surprised when he said he was removing everything back as the engine cant be started and backfire thru the exhaust despite cranking just fine.
He suspected the installation of the timing chain is done wrong but this does not make sense as all the pulley have marking. Thus, in goes the long screwdriver into cylinder one to find TDC just in case the marking is off. The marking on the crank pulley match the TDC for cylinder one thus we conclude that installation is correct.
Next is the distributor, we removed the cap to see the position and it was off by 180 degree. This makes the sparks being sent to the wrong cylinder and at the wrong time. We make the necessary adjustment and engine starts on second crank.
Why not first crank? because my bro forgot to remove the ratchet which is on the crank pulley bolt and it flies off hitting the water pump pulley producing noise as if the engine exploded when we crank the engine. 1 bolt at the pulley holder broke off.
Engine is super quiet....
How much does it cost?
Timing chain+silent chain+their pulley+tensioner is abt RM 380.
