Is there such a thing is Kelantanese number for Maxis?

My number is 012-9xxxxxx

My friends claim that it's more expensive for others to call and vice versa..

Is it true?

i think there is regional number ... as in 012 - 2xxxxxx is for KL, bla bla... but i dont think the call charges are different

Actually it's my gf who always complains to me that her calls to me are more expensive then calling her friends..

hmmm... maybe she dont want to call you but want you to call her? hehehe jkjk

Nope, Maxis has got different rates..

Adjacent areas and non-adjacent areas and all shit like that...

I'm not sure if my 012-9 number is being considered as non-adjacent even tho i'm in KL and charged different rates..

9 is not for kl la, 9 for east cost... but sum shop take number from pahang n sold it in kl... im not sure about the rate since the rates in peninsular malay is not that big different, only for those in east malaysia.. damn just talk about 1-2mins 9 ringgit lost..

no matter how expensive it is , u still have to use anyway rite ?
if can get cheap and good one , lucky loh ....
if can't, what to do ?

My question is what's considered as adjacent and non-adjacent.??
Ok i've got that Kelantanese number. I'm in KL. And I call other people in KL.
Is it considered adjacent or non-adjacent?

If you using Northern number 019-9xx xxxx and you :

- In KL and calling KL number is considered LOCAL call rate.
- In KL and calling Northern number is considered ADJACENT call rate.
- In Sabah calling Northern number is considered NON-ADJACENT call rate.

The formula is "From Where To Which Number"

Hope above explanation helps and consult ure telco for more information.

I worked in Telco line once (that was long long time ago, in the galaxy far, far away.... ops, sorry, back to topic),

the prefix is not assign with single digit in Mobile phone company. To make it simple.

Example, for Maxis, assign the following range of number
012 - 294 xxxx (Klang Valley)
012 - 295 xxxx (Perak)

The (prefix) number (294 and 295) might be next to each other, but it actually indicate different location where this number Maxis assigned to.

Of course Maxis won't make it so complicated, usually it will be
(Klang Valley)
012 - 290 0000 to 012 - 294 9999
012 - 390 0000 to 012 - 395 9999

(Perak)
012 - 295 0000 to 012 - 299 9999

NOT 012 - 9xx xxxx (Perak) (This indicate anything start with 9 after 012 is assigned to Perak)

Same thing with Telekom Malaysia, there are definitely more than 1 prefix (after 03) assign to Cheras, but the prefix may or may not sit next to each other.

and of course, maybe you guys just want to simplified the situation hence you just put 1 digit after the telco prefix (012) as an example here.

I don't understand..
So what's the conclusion?
Is it charged same rate or different.

Yes or No?

Prolog,

You may refer to SakuraGuy's post at #14 and #15 for the explanation. Answer is given.

I'm trying to explain the prefix doesn't work in single digit.

My wife uses 012-90xxxxx and it's a Central No.

From what I know, when Maxis took over TimeCel (017) they stopped issuing Hotlink prepaid for 012 nos. for some time. In short it was 012 for postpaid and 017 for Hotlink prepaid.

Then later on Maxis started to come out prepaid again for 012 nos. and this 012-9xxxxxx was the first batch ....I think lor.

Just my 0.02cents.
