When word broke about the BMW 1 Series M Coupe, many touted it as a spiritual successor to the E30 M3 with its lightness and inline engine, something that the current E90 M3 was chided with a V8 and notably larger girth compared to the older models. Once the M Coupe has hit the roads, there were whispers that it could actually be quicker than its brawny sibling, the current E90 M3.

With this in mind, the German publication Sport Auto just pitted both these cars against each other at the Hockenheim circuit and the results were surprising yet predictable at the same time. The M3 clocked in at 1:14.2 while the M Coupe narrowly edged it out by a whisker at 1:14.1.

This was remarkable for the M Coupe as it was just a tenth of a second off the time of the Porsche Cayman S, metal of much higher value. While this cannot be taken as conclusive evidence that the M Coupe is a better or more rewarding buy compared to its older M3 sibling, it does highlight the M Coupe's capabilities and prowess as a quick and well-handling machine.

The picture above is basically the water/oil ATF cooler that comes stock with some of the older Nissan Sylphy / Teana cars. Basically the ATF flows in a U-shape within the canister and at the same time water flows outside to cool the ATF, water is courtesy of the coolant.

There are 2 types of coolers out in the market, stacked fin coolers and tube coolers (specifically Permacool since this is their trademarked technology)...
