AFAIK, last time before the introduction of RON95 there was RON 92 and RON 97 only. never heard of RON96 before. correct me if i'm wrongBefore this we only have RON96 and RON97.. now they came up with RON95 and claim it better.
Its better than what ? If it is 95, it should be worse than 96...simple said and simple math.
Its all marketing strategy..
Oh my..maybe i'm worng. hehe.. During the 'cheap petrol' era.. i always use 97. Now, the gov, media and manufacturer claims the lowest we can go if 95.. so when there was 92..what vehicle used it ?AFAIK, last time before the introduction of RON95 there was RON 92 and RON 97 only. never heard of RON96 before. correct me if i'm wrong
hahaha....so much WIN...hahahah. like that. SHELL should counter this gimmick by advertising ""Rocket Fuel", instead of RON 95...
Sure a lot of ppl would think their car will zoom up the sky like rocket.....after pumping in rocket fuel
avgas is rated with ron numbers exceeding 100 because theyre used at high altitudes so knocking becomes a problem with piston powered aircraft and theyre also blended with additives that prevent the fuel from icing up (temperatures up there get really cold down to -56C). that same additive if used in normal automotive engines will wear out your pump seals and more. The fuel used in F1 cars is fairly similar to ordinary petrol, albeit with a far more tightly controlled mix. Formula One fuel can only contain compounds that are found in commercial gasoline, in contrast to alcohol-based fuels used in American open-wheel racing. Blends are tuned for maximum performance in given weather conditions or different circuits. During the period when teams were limited to a specific volume of fuel during a race, exotic high-density fuel blends were used which were actually heavier than water, since the energy content of a fuel depends on its mass density.
