Lately there are tons of fake skunk2 manifold out there for sale in the marketplace, beware and don't be fooled. Skunk2 has posted this information on their website to warn the potential buyers out there, so you are warned.

yes the replica is cheap but you don't get the performance from the fake thing so why even bother to spend the money since the original stock one even do better job.

A lot of sellers are passing these fake manifold as the real thing out there. Beware.

It's really easy to identify the fake one according to the manifold itself, the most obvious one is #2 listed in pictures below where the fake one has poor craftmanship of mold seams left from the casting.

The box itself tells the stories by identifying the surface of the box and the white barcode label attached on the box from the fake one.

For years, unscrupulous competitors have advertised their knock-off intake manifolds as being the “same as Skunk2.” They aren’t. Skunk2’s Pro Series Intake Manifold continues to set the bar and remains the most copied intake manifold around simply because it’s the best. Learn why Pro Series Intake Manifolds stand apart from the rest and how you can avoid being fooled by the clone makers.

Poor Appearance:
Open the clones' box and the casting flaws and irregular blemishes are obvious. That's because the clone makers put little effort into ensuring an acceptable level of quality. In contrast, the care taken by the foundry to produce the highest quality as demanded by Skunk2 is unmatched. Even the clone makers' materials are different. Although both manifolds are constructed of cast aluminum, only Pro Series Intake Manifolds are made from virgin, 356 aluminum, not recycled metals that are brittle and prone to cracking and discoloration. (Be sure to view the photo gallery for close-up comparisons and detailed descriptions.)

Poor Performance:
The more air and fuel that can be introduced into an engine's combustion chambers, the more power can potentially be made. High-flow air filters, exhaust systems, headers, throttle bodies, and intake manifolds all contribute to this. But a bottleneck within any one of these components can restrict flow. That's why Skunk2 ensured that its Pro Series Intake Manifolds allow for maximum port-matching to take advantage of up to 75mm throttle bodies. The clone manifolds allow for no more than 66mm throttle body port-matching, creating a significant bottleneck within the intake stream and severely limiting horsepower potential. The clone manifolds' irregular casting is also apparent inside where harsh transitions from the plenum to the runners create turbulence and restrict smooth airflow. (Be sure to view the photo gallery for close-up comparisons and detailed descriptions.)

Get ready because other clone manifolds will be introduced to the market shortly, some under the guise of companies you may already be familiar with. Some may continue to outright steal the Skunk2 Pro Series name, others may simply steal the design while rebadging it as their own. Either way, beware, as the clones, the knock-offs, and the copycats all share one thing in common: a lack of innovation and one poor design.

And the angle is different as well on the valve pipe.

The most easy thing to spot is #2, where the fake one has retangular seam line from mold casting while the original skunk2 is smooth.

brand new is selling for rm1000 in US, so if any retailer imported it into Malaysia it will cost anywhere from 1.2K to 1.4K, call N1 Racing for latest price.

Paying rm800 for a fake one which gets u intake diameter of 66mm? Better save the money or pay more to get the real thing.

N1 racing is listed as authorized dealer in skunk2 website:

Authorized Skunk2 Dealers
a friend of mine bought one from N1 and it cracked on the 2nd day of use.

i think N1 is selling fakes too. i saw the quality finishing and it's different from the ori that i owned back in US.

N1 was selling it for rm8xx but not sure about the price now. in fact i think the whole sunway is selling it at rm8xx.

Not a good idea to say so if you don't have rigid proof. You can sue them all over the place though if you have proof since they are authorized distributor in Malaysia by SKUNK2.

I think the whole market is selling fake stuff in malaysia, but I doubt N1 will do so. They are one of the authorized dealers by SKUNK2 in Malaysia. You can also check Pentagon.

why not for the sake of profit? and so what if they are the authorised dealer?

business has a lot of tactics one bro, dont limit your mindset when judging something (even if N1 is a friend of yours)..... authorised ink jet dealers also selling fake ink inside ori catridges. have u seen it??

i think i mentioned that i saw my friend IM and it looks like the item is similar to the fake one in the picture you posted. i dont really wanna accuse someone when it's totally not my business but i just pity those guys who bought them thinking they had got great stuffs with them.

Random Post Every 5 Minutes

Dear Frenz...

Just want to get some information.

Currently, I'm driving 4G93T with MIVEC gearbox. Since the top speed for this gb, is killing my fuel consumption, planning to change only the 5th gear and using 4G93 5th gear set. Is it possible?

Looking forward for some answers.

Thanx a lot...
