Shuanghuan Sceo: Chinese BMW X5 Copy-Cat Coming To Europe!

Sceo_0.jpg

They just won’t let it go, will they? What if every Chinese car tested by Germany’s ADAC has miserably failed at the crash tests; who cares! Just keep bringing them in and at some point we’ll accept them. Following the Landwind SUV and the Brilliance BS6 Sedan, next up from China is the Shuanghuan Sceo SUV that will be distributed by a new French car dealer named “AZ Motors”. The latter announced that it has been appointed as distributor of the Chinese 4x4 in France, Belgium and the Netherlands.

However, with the Sceo, safety isn’t the only thing Europeans should be worried about as you don’t need the imagination of J.K. Rowling to see that Shuanghuan’s SUV is inspired from the previous generation BMW X5 with a touch of Toyota Land Cruiser up front. We might find it hilarious, but we’re sure as hell that BMW execs aren’t finding this at all funny…

r u sure they're copycat?

from what i know, the mould n design, they use high price to buy from BMW

oooo...really wish9?there's a crv resemblance at the front.the body nearly
85% look like x5.

I saw one tat looks like altis and city... Sorry dunno where i save the pic....

no noo noooo!!!........The truth is BMW copied China's car the first place!!!

hahahahahahah!!!

Aiya.. get use to it ok liao la... China ma..there is no trademark wht...hahahaha...

But actually i feel China people very smart.

China company will be next biggest copy machine company, betting Canon, HP and Xerox....... You don't need to pay a cen for copyright, basically they steal it and PROUD of it..... Gosh, is there any different between China company and Saddam??

Well Japan also last time like that. Nobody noticed that their old Nissans and Toyotas were copied and moded designs from US and UK. But everyone is glorifyin/ worshiping Japanese cars without looking back at history. hahaha.

But for the new generation, 20 years back you can prodly say " I saw China grew". While the rest of us already say "We SAW Japan grew". The cycle never ends ya?

aiya.. even our 'P' also ma...u see the latest waja..

Waja is a different thing altogether. and if u are insist to choking Proton's throat, then like NetMatrix say lah.. but that's none of my intention now.

see, there is a phrase that resemble everything the Korean did last time. that is Reverse Engineering. Meaning, they do not own such RnD thing/ division, but they took some designs then try to better it with their sort of expertise or whatever they possessed.

maybe the same thing these Apeks from China are doing.

but, the design (whether they copy or like the ones they invented)...OMG, very very very ugly...

But, these Koreans are not stupid. they knew by reverse engineering, they would be following what the others did. not only they would be seen as the copier/ uninnovative, but reverse engineering always end up less than the original design. and also outdated.

Hyundai+Kia are the two most obvious change of this concept. Now their designs are much better, infact, much much better than some of the South East Asia car maker (LOL). Hyundai currently have the Equus to penetrate Europe/ American market, and Kia hired like 12-15 top administrators/ engineers (pinchings) to straight their company..

but potong still the same...hahahahahaha....what to do??
people are going up but ours is going down...very sad...

Not really going down la. Its just that yo see that last time Proton power window nightmare just came to haunt new buyers of Proton cars! On exception for Waja, Gen 2 and Savvy seems to be good products. Though can be improved here and there.

Then again we can laugh and laugh at China for being silly and ignorant pirates. I'm not laughing at their growth, which is a fact.

Biz espionage is everywhere, either low @ high level. Everyone go thru the cycle-copycat b4 they hv their own design. The question is dun get caught.

Even Toyota also doing it in 21st century & ---

is involved in pirating Ferrari F1 design
:

The long-running case against former Ferrari engineers Mauro Iacconi and Angelo Santini, who were accused of stealing Ferrari secrets and giving them to Toyota, has concluded at the Tribunale di Modena with Santini condemned to nine months in prison for industrial espionage and Iacconi facing 16 months in jail for receiving the information from Santini and passing it on to Toyota. Both sentences were suspended but both men say they will appeal the decision...

So, there is no surprise when Hyundai copycat what Toyota has done:

... What would be better than to hire a defector from the other team? It's even better when the defector brings along plenty of top-secret information to share. That's just what engineer Bruce Shibuya did when Hyundai nabbed him from Toyota and appointed him vice president of the Hyundai-Kia North American Quality Center. Little details like non-disclosure agreements must have been lost in the shuffle, as a tipster inside Hyundai alerted Toyota to the blatant theft and disclosure of trade secrets, which of course has led to a lawyer-fest. Shibuya's alleged brazen acts included giving Toyota-branded powerpoint presentations to Hyundai and copying binder upon binder of technical information, all handily marked "do not duplicate", and sending that information on to Hyundai HQ in Korea. Since Toyota's lawyers arrived on the scene, Shibuya has been terminated and Toyota has yet to file litigation against Hyundai...
