Best Car magazine in Japan is showing off a couple of pictures of the upcoming GT-R and reporting some interesting stuff. They claim:

"The standard GTR is expected to start at $57K while the V Spec and EVO Spec will start at $67K and $94K respectivly. Both a 6 speed and an advanced paddle shifting automatic are to be available. The Standard GTR and Spec V will be equiped with a 480HP version of the VQHRTT engine(displacement is either 3.7 or 3.8L as it has not yet been confirmed).

The GTR EVO will receive a 530HP version of the VQHRTT engine as well as being roughly 220lbs lighter then the standard GTR, coming with light weight seats, a larger more aerodynamic rear spoiler, large ceramic brake rotors, and a revised Altessa AWD geared for more track use."

However, I tend to not takes these news and images from Japanese magazines very seriously. They aren't usually very accurate at all. Click on the images for larger picture.

Advanced paddle-shifting automatic? Hope it's not as bad as the one in auto GTTs.

Im surprised to see those quad exhaust .. damn big for a factory production car. Anyone realises that ?

cosmetic purposes??.....

sky .. i dont think the king if rival's need any fake / cosmetics :) .. 480ps is a killer ..

the power of 280 ps is already lifted about a year ago...
no more 280 gentlemen agreement...

The engine is v6 not straight 6? Straight 6 is more powerful than v6 rite in terms of torque?

Erm...I don't think there is any definite rule which states that a straight 6 has naturally more torque than a V6.

The benefits on a straight 6 is that it is naturally balanced and is simpler than a V configuration 6. The downside is that it is long and that's where the V6 comes in being more compact but has the drawback of being more complex.

Its about technology, dont assume Skyline to be using older technology, but always the RB26DETT is the most powerfull Japanese engine ever produced in its automotive history.

You want Nissan to make us pay about RM350,000 for a 20years old technology? like what Proton is doing to its Iswara, Wira & also Perdana? .. We're paying about RM40,000 for a 20year old Mitsubishi invention man! ..

hahahaha ! .. move advance ;)
