Fixing the MR

Hey Guys,

I don’t know if this topic will be interesting for ya’ll. But I though if we could just share our repair bill and cost, it would greatly increase everybody’s competence and negotiation level when fixing or modding our mid engine cars. What do you guys think?

P/s I know some people got secret projects and prices… don’t share loh :-)

Ok I’ll start.

There were some thumping and clicking sounds coming form my read suspension & drive train area. So I got my mechanic to check, and found that my drive shafts were about to give way. So I started looking for parts.

MRMIC2 found me a set of SW20 drive shafts form RM450 (chop shop condition) but the mechanic also found a set which was RM110 more, but with a warranty. So not being penny wise pound foolish I decided to purchase the more expensive warranty-ed units.

Total cost including labor, bearing and transmission oil change cost me RM800.

Btw, after all that I found out that it was the suspension tower bushing which is the culprit. Cost of fixing, FREE, WD40 and some grease. OUCH!
