yes some mayb is for style
but some may not
for example if a wira with a vr4,evo1,2,3 engine it must do so
bcoz the engine is much more higher n bigger compare to original proton engine
besides that it oso help to reduce the hot air under the hood that produced by the engine

nope, its because the engine won't fit in properly especially for Proton mod to mitsui engines like VR4 and Evo...Sometimes they cut one of the brackets on the hood to give exra space and sometimes they lift the hood.

sorry, what i meant is there bulge coming out from the bonet. the cam pulley side will actually hit the bonet. so what they do is cut a piece of the bone structure from the left and knock it out a bit

but actually there are a few wiras/satrias around with modded engines like VR4 and Evo that can fit in properly without cutting the support bracket or lifting the hood wan. So, it is actually possible, crystal_method...

cos they want to let the cold air comes in ..if they dont put a hole in their stock bonnet or change their bonnet with hole like evo or celica..so they just higher their bonnet to let cold air in and also let their turbo breath..

having the hood jacks up serve special purpose for all type engine.

first maybe people think style but actually its to release hot air from

engine bay. its just easy change the hood nuts to bigger nuts then got lift effect already.

lolz, if stanley is here, he would say the hot air goes from under the car, but for me, i would say, it come out from on top, but only during traffic jam larr....driving i think it does the reverse as it draws air in....super scoop method used by ford for their monter cars :D i cant remember where i saw it before, but i saw it....

btw, i lifted mine up to, with 2 nuts, but i can be classified as poser lar, cause i oni lif tit up to help me improve my FC as my filter is situated right at the back of the engine bay :D

ya wei thought about it... buuuut... dunno la i'm in a dilemma now. ok since mine's jacked up so high i suppose the air runs in/out easier but i still appreciate the 'smooth look' where everythin fits nicely like a jigsaw puzzle. sounds gay i know but like tat lor hehe! at da same time i also wan da stealth factor, a lot of my frens when they saw they said "waa u tipu us la wei u got modified block ah??" but thanks anyways for the advice... peace.

Dude, lifted bonnet will not let air comes in ler.. air moving at high speed will not reverse / u turn into engine bay la.. it will instead create a lower pressure at the lifted area thus introduce suckin effect and draw hot air inside the engine bay out, or is also term as pasive cooling.. not related to let turbo "breath", the turbin will be more than sufficient to pump in air u dont need to induce it..
