im not sure either, how much u paid the oil for?
the tappet sound is loud cos the viscosity of fully syn oil is thin...try using semi syn
on your next service interval.

i call and spoke to the proton sc ppl already,it seems that the oil i am using now is fully syntetic,he say for persona better dun use fully syn, just use mineral or semi also can already, looks like the problem really because of using the wrong engine oil, next friday my car due to service already, maybe i will use back mineral or semi oil and see the results, nowadays the new proton car so complicated, older proton like saga / wira also can use any oil and not much problem :(

the best is always used semi or fully synthetic instead of mineral..high

for any campro engine..the best is using engine oil that have thicker hot index viscosity..

use w50 engine..front index doesn't matter..but good to use engine oil that have 50 grade at the end..

example

mineral :
20w50

premium mineral
15w50

semi
10w50
15w50

fully
5w50
0w50
10w50

my waja campro also got the 'tek tek tek' sound. certainly it is not caused by iafm because mine is 2006 version without iafm or cps. there is no such sound when the engine is cold except rattling sound when i start it in the morning. but the sound starts to appear when the engine become hotter maybe because the engine oil become thinner. however, the sound disappear when the car starts to move for a few km but it will come again when the engine idle for approx 5-10 minutes.

my mechanic said it is because of tappet valves and i replaced 1 set (16 pcs) of them but it did not solve the problem even a bit. can anybody advice what happen to the engine? is it because of insufficient oil pressure due to oil pump? i already did tuning at sc but there is nothing wrong with oil press parameter. pls help me, i already run out of idea.

IKC,
bro, the thing dat my mechanic took-out is from the IAFM unit..located down under the engine..(access from the driver side).. its actually a plastic part..according to him, its like an extension for the inner part IAFM..
since its attach to other plastic part..there is tolerance between dat part.. dats y after youer car heat up, dat noise bone oredi..(told by the mechanic..as long dat noise gone n not affect my car..ok lorr.. =P)
n its believe only the new batch persona (2010-late 2009) got da new part..they said its change to metal oredi.. since they 'buang' dat part..no more tek..tek..tek..sound..
u ask them la bout this..myb its gave them any idea.. later i upload the pix..

Hi all bro,

This is Proton Saga BLM engine noise. Anyone can figure out what is the cause of this noise. This noise only appear when the engine get warm.

Random Post Every 5 Minutes

This does not happen all the time; about once in a few days.

After killing the engine, sometimes it does not die immediately - the engine would shake and shudder first, before coming to a complete stop.

If I attempt to start the engine immediately after that, it would be quite difficult - i suspect it's due to "overflow" because I can smell petrol if I open the hood. Waiting for some time (20-30 minutes) would solve this "difficult to start" problem.

What's going on, and what would...
