air filter.. types and price

hi all... help me with pros n cons of each type of filter...
i dono the price also...
hope someone can fill me in with the price..
and also what is your opinion..

1. the stock one.. .more restriction, less power?
but changing the lead .. is quite cheap.

2. performance filter, washable..
how much for a normal one? 200++?
wash one time.. RMxx? or i buy myself the wash kit.. RMxx?

3. performance filter, with changable element...
first time buy..? RM3xx? each time change element... RM8x?

4. Peformance filter, 'maintenance free'...
cost.. RM2xx? 3xx?
it said it last 50k km? so how long is that.. few years?


so what type u using now...
which one more cost effective?

Use K&N...very good.
not very expensive too, if wash by tuning shop is RM8 a time. In seremban lah KL dont know.
The cleaning kit contain a cleaning element and an oiling kit is RM60. IN seremban lah

Basically, those that allow more air in allow more dirt too. So prob need to clean TB A LOT. Never get cap ayam.. even if it does look like HKS Mushroom, it ain't a HKS mushroom. :lol:

dont listen people bullshit & PLEASE DONT BULLSHIT PEOPLE.... i dont thin if u change air filter will contribute u 10-15hp <--- this is bullshit... any chart u can prove? if u dont have the prove, pls dont quote other people's say or marketing words.... it is not so easy to gain even 5hp if just spending rm200 on air filter for na.... pls dont simply quote how much hp would gain if u have no dyno chart to prove...

the article above tested on skyline... not any car u can get the same hp as tested... u can use ratio if u want.... % contribution on hp as compared to stock hp... good luck...

im driving stock standard SGTI.. tried k&n not much diff.. pipercross more sedap.. slighly easier to rev.. im my oppinion, it's better than k&n and cheaper too.. the only downside is it doesn't look nice.. heck.. it's drop in leh who wants to see hehehe.. but build quality isnt as good as k&n.. but worth the $$$ im sure other satria users will agree wif me :)

HKS Super Power Flow oso good maa....but the filter spounge need to replaced once it changed colour maa...but my fren told me tat it can be wash but one time only after that kenot anymore...

performance i won't say so, but so far best reviews are from Apexi around 230 with adapter, and KNN drop in or open pod. roughly around 200++ - 300, and also pipercross ranging around 280

IMHO, apexi should be the best aftermarket air filter, just donno how it last lifetime cause don't have to reoil or wash it. The sound...vroom damn nice too, who wants to get it? Next monday i may visit N1 or KSP, who wants to follow?
