change high performance air filter, change piping, put in hi cams, replace ecu and lots more. But for starting, juz change air filter n piping. Others, if u got deep pocket then can la.

first of all, know what kind of power u want...for track or for daily use?

like what mr. Elitehunter said, change the air filter and piping first...then will give u atleast another 4-8hp...

those are the cheapest mods u can do to a car without 'breaking the bank account'...hehe...

rest are pretty expensive to do...and u wont get much in return power wise cause dont forget, youre modding the 1.5 stock engine..reliability is another factor too...with the amount that your probably gonna spend, might rethink and consider dumping in a turbo charged engine......

i forgot to mention, my car is a auto 1.5... so piping and air filter will do it? it's definitely for daily use...

another thing is what's the purpose or use of a pivot stabilizer? i still don't get it...anyone mind explaining? what does it do??

and recommend me some place to do all these changes..i stay in subang so somewhere nearby would be good..if possible, include brand and price of the parts...cheaper the better..those that can increase hp can already cos my car is a chapalang 1.5auto car..don't wanna spend much...

thx man...

if u wan cheaper, then go to chop shop. i dunno bout the pricing.
pivot stabilizer is to reduce the car bodyroll by strengthening the chasis.

and also get a grounding cable and voltage stabilizer. it makes your care respond faster.

if i were u, i wil juz do some minor upgrade.

  1. use synthetic engine oil
  2. use better atf
  3. use dot4 brakefluid
  4. distilled water + Q8 Antifreeze
  5. Iridium Spark Plugs
  6. Grounding + VS for better current flow
  7. Lightweight sport rim
  8. KNN Dropin air filter + 3inch CAI
  9. Better shock + Spring
  10. Full Ekzos System

if stil not satisfy, i wil suggest u opt for GSR-T halfcut......hassle free n powerful

i think elitehunter got mixed up. hehe...
pivot is a company that produces electronics for car performance. pivot 'blue raizin' voltage stabilzer helps minorly in regaining loss off power from inconsistent voltage supply. doesnt really add power that much. but some say it improves ur stereo system & head light brightness.
k&n drop-ins are around rm280 for wira 1.5 at n1racing, subang(quite cheap). im not 2 sure of the CAI...
u should go for the full exhaust system. this will give u around 6-8h's gain.

if u wanna learn to mod ur car, must not hesitate to get down n dirty to do it urself mah... thats the most direct way to learn stuff...

there is a cheap alternative, why resort to expensive aftermarket stuff.... both basically works the same....

basic startoff to improve ur car performance, I/H/E (intake, headers, exhaust)...
- installing highflow air filter (open pod or drop in) improves suction of air...
- headers/extractor.... get a tuned header so ur exhaust gas can channel out easily....
- exhaust... includes piping, mid section setup (bullet/highflow cat/ twin bullet) and muffler.... get a reputated workshop for advice on the best exhaust setup for ur car to suit ur driving style....

I drive a Wira SE Auto. And I understand how you feel about the lack of power bro. But if yours is the standard auto, then you probably can do what I've done to help in the "oomph" of the car :

1. Get a voltage stabilizer and grounding kit if your car is older than 5 years (I recommend c-ground, pm c-ground)
2. Install a cold air intake and drop in air filter (open pod too much hassle)
3. Get the extractor and exhaust changed. I'm using the Wira SE one, comes as standard. My center bullet and catcon has been replaced with a CCR (ask khguan or drexchan) and my rear muffler changed to a S-flow muffler. Piping overall diameter is 1.7" and rear outlet is 2".
4. Remove all heavy stuff in the boot including spare tyre (do at own risk!) and sub woofer and amps
5. Get light weight rims and good tyres (I recommend Bridgestone MY01 for starters)

Soon to come for me :

6. Get the Mythelogy lightened crank pully (contact Drexchan for this)
7. Trial to do port and polish

This won't make you the fastest car on earth, but it'll give you that extra kick when you need it without the hassles of JPJ or getting into trouble with them.

^_^

wah this helps alot maybe because u experience this as well...haha...btw, does your wira rear brakes makes those squeeky noises? because mine does....and i don't know how to settle it...i sent it to numerous mechanics already....changed the brake pads and brake lining and even did skimming of the drums....but still it happens after like a week or so...and it's quite loud....and i don't wanna change to disks....anyway to solve this??

brake pad squeeling may be due to a few reasons.

The less severe problem is just the brake pads need changing. Or your brake pads are of too hard material / compound.

The more severe problem is your brake disc may have warped. You said you skimmed the drums? You skimmed your rear drum? Or do you mean the front disc?

I suggest you try doing a complete cleaning of the brake caliper and all and brush off all the brake dust and make sure the clips and metal sheets (not sure what they are called) are cleaned thoroughly. Then once cleaned, the sheets have to be greased with high temp grease (not too much) otherwise may cause grinding or squeeling noise.

PM me, I can recommend my mech to you. He does a pretty good job of all these things.
