the list is super long, as 1.6 segment has the highest number of competitors from almost every carmaker.

my pick is between national cars, euro's best as well as japanese models.

Went for the Alfa 146 which would be brilliant to drive and has great sexy looks.

Would probably even go for the Lancer or the Impreza. Nice cars.

The baby Beemer is just like hanging a big cardboard sign on yourself stating, "I'm desperate to have a BMW". It falls short of BMW quality, cramped at the back and has a small boot. Good drivers car though.

The Protons can't hope to compare in this crowd.

Not too sure about the Frenchies. The C4 is full of techno gizmos. Probably good cars but more of an acquired taste. Especially the styling.

Mini. Too impractical. Buy it for the lifestyle statement.
