It has come to our Attention that there are unscrupulous Retailers who are bringing in IMITATION GT3540R and selling them as Genuine GARRETT or telling customers it is back door from Garrett, when in fact there isn't such a thing.

Genuine GARRETT GT3540R aka GT35R retails between RM 4,800 /pc , but these IMITATION sellers sell for RM 3,800 /pc.

Below are pictures of the IMITATION turbo found and complained by customers.

1. No Garrett name plate
2. Not Garrett single cartridge ball bearing design, they are using standard 2 piece ball bearing (not able to withstand high speed and high temperature)
3. Poor casting on Turbine housings
4. Rough bearing sounds. (we have the video to prove it)
5. Rough and Poor Compressor Wheel designs.

Any consumer who has been conned into buying one of these can bring the receipt to the Domestic Consumer Association along with the receipt and lodge a police report that it is an IMITATION. We will back up the report with full technical support.

Lawyers representing GARRETT have been notified and will not hesitate to take direct and immediate legal action on persons found selling / retailing / distributing / importing these IMITATION turbos.

Consequential damages to the engine and it's performance are not the liability of GARRETT and or it's Distributor (KL Turbo One)

every thing now got imitation. this is because buyers want it so badly and want it at unbelievable cheapness... in the end.. they'll just get some china crap copies. the workmanship and man hours spent to install these will cost more in the end compared with buying originals in the first place.

First was Blow Off Valves...now the turbine itself... damn it.
