Its been a while since Maranello rolled off a GTS from its factory floor, GTS being Prancing Horse speak for ‘targa.’ While we may associate the word more with Porsches nowadays, it truly has been a long time since we last saw a T-Top Ferrari.

Since the 355 hit the skids, its either been fixed-roof or full-fledged convertibles rolling off the production line, until now that is.

The latest product of Ferrari’s in-house customization program, the 612 GTS Pavesi as it shall be dubbed, is based on the 612 Scaglietti. It features a pair of removable roof panels constructed from carbon fiber. Even the front end gets a bit or a rework and is touched up by a two-tone silver and black plaint scheme.

Power output too has been boosted by 20 horses through a custom Tubi exhaust system, bringing the total up to 550hp to set it apart from the garden variety Scags. Ferrari have held back on the owner of this custom creation but the interwebs have pointed out that Pavesi is the name of an Italian go-kart producer. Regardless the owner though, we’re still just in it for the car.

Never like the look of this design in the first place, especially now with that black paint job on the side. It makes it look like so cheap, like a ricer mobile!

The Goodwood Festival of Speed is a celebration of all things automotive and could very well boast some of the most diverse machines to ever tread asphalt. The highlight of the festival has to be the hill climb that sees all that automotive goodness having their god-given right of speed exercised up the 1.86km course.
