Hey guys, I came across this grounding kit in a S'pore magazine yesterday, I though grounding is a "fake technology" how come a big brand like HKS can also produce a kit?

From reading on the web, I think its a HKS Japan product not USA, cause the Americans don't believe in grounding, or something like that.

Anyway, if this thing really works, would a cheaper brand like Pivot have a similar effect on a car?

HKS makes one of the best grounding kit in the market. Top of the line stuff with gold plated connectors and distribution block. Great choice..

grounding doesnt work ?
who told u lar bro
but please i mean please
dont expect 20hp or even 2hp increase in it
its just to give a better ground for all the elektrik and electronics for ur car and nothing more ...

LMAO, this is not the products like micro-compressor, etc..

sorry sorry.. forgot to tellu tat i started to admired u liao.... ahhaahhaahhah.....

proven to be best for old car where their grounding point is being corroded over time

almost get a shock when someone say grounding is a fake technology.... phiew~~!! All our customers are satisfied with our customization job..

putracraze : hhehehhehhe , gonna kill u larr , u teach me , i tell them only hehhehhehehe

c-ground : sorry bro about my grounding , i gatal tangan , took the risk and fixed it hehe

Opps, so grounding really helps, my mistake, I somehow got the impression otherwise. Anyway, as for my other question, does any old grounding kit on the market work as well as the HKS one?

I've also been wondering about grounding stuff. I've got a Satria, born in September 1995. That's about 9 years and 9 months, close to about 10 years old. I've heard a few people say that grounding works better with aged vehicles. I've also heard some mechs at accessories shop say that it's useless. Since my car is close to a decade old, I've always wondered and thought about getting 5 point grounding for my car. Some questions that wonder around my mind is....

1) Will there be any obvious and noticeable difference?

2) Does the material of the grounding kit matter?

3) What is the few most noticeable and obvious difference?

4) I guess one reason for grounding is the prolonging of electrical items' life span. Other than that, how will it help my car electronics (or any other areas/parts/etc.) in the long run?

5) Are there any products that will provide full money back guarantee if the item doesn't work as expected?

6) For a 1995 satria running on Maintenance Free battery (this may not make any difference but just additional info), how much would a grounding kit cost? I believe there are some ZTH members who sells grounding kits, no?

Thanks peepz.

if century old = 100 years old....not likely. you have another 90 years more to go...hehehe

ermm... satria_95...material of the grounding kit does matter....n the most noticeable effect is the head light's will get brighter and u'll have better start up's (better cranking no need to crank many times).....ermm..there is no any products that will provide full money back guarantee if the item doesn't work as expected... but if it doesen't work hks wouldn't produce it..:).... how much would a grounding kit cost? around Rm70-80 at Eneos.... but i recon u buy pivot voltage stabilizer (comes along with the grounding kit) only Rm200 something... branded some more ;)

to know about how grounding works, u will need to understand the basic about electricity. im sad to hear that grounding being called as fake technology. imagine a car without being ground, soon u will see the car in flame. try your house with no grounding/earthing, soon 1 thunder strike u will see urself in flame.

As mp5onfire mentioned, its more on material being used to show how effective the grounding will be. however, unless u r sensitif enaugh or else u wun be able to feel on diff material grounding result.

grounding in a car is not similar to the grounding in a house (earth).

Grounding is to complete the electrical circuits so that the components can function.

Imagine having the power feed from the positive but nothing connected to the negative.

Almost all the components get connected to the negative by having a wire "grounded" to the chassis/body. If you look at the battery negative terminal, there's a yelow/black cable connected to the chassis as well, that's where all the electrons flow from the battery to the chassis/body to the components.

Adding extra grounding cables is like adding more lanes, shorter lanes to ease up the traffic.

mp5onfire,
So the pivot voltage stabilizer comes in a package that contains the voltage stabilizer itself and also grounding cables? I think there's a thread about the Pivot thingy somewhere, right? Will search around a bit. Thanks for the info, dude. Now, have to save a bit of money to get it. hehe

I have no idea what are the differences* between:
1. separating the VS and the GK
2. incorporating the GK with (not "into") the VS.
