Yes, trial and error requires a lot of passion and patience..and money of course.. But we as Malaysian...we just copycat what the japanese and europeans had invented trough their experiments and studies...Thats the culture of technology transfer in Malaysia..we invented nothing...just follow what the best does..if they eat pizza, we eat pizza..if they eat sushi, we eat sushis..but now i heard they started to eat shit...heheheh..jk...anyway just follow the ass of the best...heheheh

Now this is an interesting topic^^

I must agree I did not see alot of rotary participating in our motoring scene... most likely due to the cost I guess :P

But I own an FC and I usually put her through her proper paces, I track her as often as I can and wallet permiting :P and I mostly do touge runs with her.... and as expected, always having her threading that dangerous line she have her fair shair of pain as well >.<

So far in my 4 years of ownership she has gone through 3 major accidents, and the latest one was last november... or was it October...? :P
So she mostly stays in the workshop... being mended... until now unfortunately T.T

maybe your neighbors from across the causeway should pay a little visit soon and reignite the rotary spirit in the ones that are losing faith? yep in sg its a TIGHT as hell rotary community for us sevens but we still show them whos boss.

cant let such a beauty of a car down now can we?

HAHAHA.

Just drove my lady out yesterday morning.

DIY-ed on her to make her a one eye jack. FTW....her intake temps are damned low now.

Next up. Paint job and possibly some new rims.

I think Phat is talking about those cold intake hoses that connects from the lower bumper to the engine bay..

Haha.

I basically removed the clear plastic cover from a Re Amemiya projector lamp, sanded it down, sprayed it matt black and then plumbed in some hosing directly to my turbo/heat shielded area.

As the car hardly sees normal street use, this mod makes hell of a difference when it comes to intake temps.

Rx8 - IMHO, don't bother. Too expensive to maintain and not many performance perks compared to the old 7s. I'd rather buy a fairlady for that money.

hmmm.. I tracked my RX7 on pasir gudang track 2 weeks ago... did 6 laps...

1st lap - water temp 95 and Oil temp 100
2nd lap - water temp 110 and oil temp 100-105
3rd lap - water temp 120 and oil temp 110

Took a break and did the remaining laps..

Nothing happened .. :3
then you gotta uprate your cooling system.....
previously... i track my car on Sepang....

1st lap.. water temp 95
2nd lap water temp 98
3rd lap water temp 98
4th lap water temp 98
5th lap water temp 99
6th lap water temp 99
7th lap.... my tire cannot make it.. over heated tires...

i don't have oil temp.. so i can't comment. and i have twin oil cooler.. so i don't bother checking the oil temp.

Im trying to find Mazmart Re-Medy water pump for my 7.. but there isnt any new available.. i think the water pump increases the flow rate thru the engine hence lowering the heat signature..

what radiator are you on and what coolants are you using?
