It was a night to remember for the Petronas Syntium Team as they secured a record smashing 1,3 finish after 321 worth of grueling laps sandwiching another other crowd favourite, a Belgian Audi R8 LMS. As they blasted off the grid at flag-off, Nobuteru Taniguchi, Masataka Yanagida and Dominic Ang in their SLS GT3 defied the odds and made an incredible come back even overshadowing their team mates Tatsuya Kataoka, Fariqe Hairuman, Bernd Schneider who led the race at the front row.
It was a trouble-free race for Kataoka/Hairuman/Schneider as they set the pace for the first 10 hours until mechanical problems forced the team to make a lengthy stop at the pits enabling Le Mans powered Belgian Audi, Marcel Fassler, Frank Biela and Marco Werner who qualified third to overtake them at lap 262.
