Too many stories behind this transition (from the net)
As a Exxon customer...
Hopefully the fuel quality still remains the same &
they still provide RON97 on rural area/small town.

As this the only brand supplied RON97 away from town area
Especially Sabah, Sarawak & Labuan...

Regarding lubricant...its time to switch to other brand
My personal experience with Mobil 1 and Castrol Edge, i find Castrol Edge is a better lubricant, so im not really affected. Dont believe my word for it. Try it yourself......
Clocked 1.8 million using Castrol on my previous Masterpiece Merz, never overhauled, not even a top overhaul! Only the fifth gear manual gearbox gave way.....:burnout:

Bro, not quite true.

Rename stations - yes.

Fuel - not really the same. San Miguel bought over the refineries and all. So they own Exxonmobil's refineries and all but they didn't buy over the formulation rights. Besides Petron is an established brand in Phillipines, would be strange to sell different petrol under the same brand right?

Mobil1 bought from hypermarkets is blended overseas, usually Europe blend. Different additive % and levels. Same additives, just different concentrations to cater for weather considerations. Cheaper? Yes. So much so local distributors complaining like hell but Exxon M'sia can't do anything about it since the hypermarkets are importing directly from their overseas suppliers.
