Castrol are taking their ‘Instant Protection’ campaign with its augmented reality approach on the road as they hit major cities around the country to raise awareness to the public. The campaign focuses on the importance of instant protection, driving home the fact that engine wear happens the most during the start up and warming phase.

This is where the Intelligent Molecules technology used in Castrol Magnatec comes in handy as it clings to all the vital engine part all the time, providing protection when you need it the most, during warm up.

“As up to 75 per cent of engine wear occurs during the critical start up and warm up phase, we liken start up engine wear to a “monster”. Aside from learning about engine protection and how the Intelligent Molecules in Castrol Magnatec are always ready to protect your car engine 24/7, visitors will discover that even lubricants can be interesting and fun through the giant augmented reality monster experience. So it is extremely exciting as we witness the level of interactivity and excitement expressed by the public at our road shows. At Castrol, it has never been just about oil, it’s really about liquid engineering,” said Mark Ng, Marketing Director of Castrol Singapore and Malaysia.



The campaign was started with an online game and a grand launch at Mid Valley on 17 June before it moved on to Gurney plaza, Penang the following month. The next stop for the road show will be down south at Aeon Tebrau City, Johor Bahru, from 22-24 July.

Visitors to the road show can look forward to the augmented reality technology that is the highlight of the campaign. It allows you to enjoy an interactive experience of being protected by Castrol Magnatec’s Intelligent Molecule from a giant monster attack.

The augmented reality technology has also been applied to an interactive online game on Facebook. It has been a hit so far, having been played over 7,500 times in just three weeks. If you’re not yet a fan of Castrol Malaysia on Facebook, all you need to do is click ‘Like’ on the Castrol Malaysia Facebook page and play the interactive and experiential game to stand a chance to win a host of attractive prizes including holiday trips to Hong Kong Disneyland, Singapore’s Universal Studio, the all new iPad 2 asd well as Castrol Magnatec products.
