Once again the hills are set to reverberate to the burbles of V8’s and boxers as well as the straight gunned with the Berjaya Hills Time Challenge 2010 that will be put together by JPM Motorsports over the weekend of 29-31 October.

This time around, the event will see 120 drivers tackle the twists and turns of Berjaya Hills in Pahang against their own time handicaps, following the format of the inaugural event held last year. However, there will be four new categories for this round, Uphill, Downhill, Combined Routes and Time Attack. It’s touted to be the largest supercar and performance car gathering for an automotive hill climb event.

Spectators can expect a gathering of the cream of the automotive world with a balanced mix of modern muscle and classic rides such a Ferraris, Lamborghinis, Porsches, Aston Martins, Lotus and even a Jaguar or two.

The event was also specifically held in October to coincide with the Breast Cancer Awareness month which will be a focus of the event. Royal Selangor, the world’s largest pewter maker, and trophy sponsor for the hill climb, will be contributing towards the good cause by arranging a jelly making workshop at their Visitor Center’s café. The jelly making workshop is open to anyone and for a fee of RM200, participants will learn how to make jelly with the pewter mould and take home a pewter jelly mould. Part of the fee for the workshop, RM70, will be channeled towards the Breast Cancer Awareness Foundation.

Spanning over 16,000 acres of rugged hills and sitting 3,000 feet above sea level, Colmar Tropicale at Berjaya Hills will be the center point for the event. It’s just 10km off the East-West Karak Highway and 45 minutes from Kuala Lumpur.

The other sponsors backing the hill climb challenge are Top One Oil, Ishin Japanese Dining and BMW Pendragon Auto. Testament to the event’s appeal is the fact that drivers from as far as Singapore, Sri Lanka and Australia are looking to participate.

Participation fees ranges from RM500 for classic cars up to RM800 for modern cars. All participation fees include a gala dinner that will see the announcements of the winners. As per the first event, spectators get to catch the action for free.
