hello everyone. i have been doing some research/comparison between single throttle and 4throttle. this topic might have been discussed before but i really need a very good technical answer from any of u guys who have more experience or have gone thru this kind of modification. my question is which throttle body is the best for high revving car, up to 9000rpm or above??

some people said that single throttle is the best for high revving compare to 4throttle. if it is true, why? In japan, most honda that can rev up to 9k rpm or above is using large single throttle body and this is common there. as for toyota, there is a tuner or shud i say engine builder has developed toyota formula atlantic engine that can rev till 8.5k rpm producing 240HP using 4throttle. there are so many theory i have read n heard so far and its making me confused even more.

what do u guys think??? lets share information

i prefer a larger single tb and a larger intake compared to a 4throttle setup, easier and less fussy imo. its a different story if the engine comes std with an independant throttle system like the 4age 20v, skyline gtr, etc

Its easier to tune a single giant throttle body compared to 4 individual ones.

RB26's, a LOT of them convert to single throttlebodies. But maybe it has something to do with being NA and force inducted also? :hmmmm:

Just my 2 cents.

rev limits does not just depends on throttle body set up... engine setup, rod ratio, borexstroke, fuel mapping, cams, etc. all plays a major role....

there is reason why most inline4 engine on superbike use 4throttle instead big single..

well putting engine configuration aside....4throttle have a better advantage over big single throttle....where it combats main weakness of big single throttle:: throttle responds...

especially when u were going into high rpm engine mods which require high flow intake setup....yes big single throttle have high flow....but a properly sized 4throttle can achieve same result....and without lumpyness throttle responds over big single.... :adore:

i'd say :

single throttle for low to mid rev..

4 throttle for mid to high rev..

gudluck :burnout:

a well designed intake manifold can be as good as individual throttle unit...
true also...

for some reason such as part costs and tuning difficulties, thats why we see some 4g9* modders custom fit skunk2 racing honda intake on mitsu...

but for ultimate setup my choice would be 4throttle any day... :adore:

wow!

TTR, Team TiTAN Racing, brought 2 cars this time around, my SLK and whit3puppy's newly TiTANed Kelisa..

we both got podium finishes, amid fierce competition from our competitors in our class, which saw a large amount of entries in the 1300cc below (pre-Viagra) class.

i managed to finish in 3rd, with my best time of 81.75sec, which was not good enough to beat Alven aka Emissary's best time, 80.69secs
Ian Khong in his Suzuki Swift managed an astounding 77+secs in...
