hi everyone

i saw many modified car..
like those who modified to 4 throttle
and those who modify to twin carb

many of them running without air filter one..

what is your opinion about this?
is it good? (power?) or bad? (dirty thing get in?)

is it suitable for normal daily road use?

will the dust/sand get suck in scratch your cylinder
destroy your piston
mess up your engine oil/ oil filter?

Be prepared to rebuild your engine every 10-20k km... less if your area is dusty. :P

i run 4 throttle for 1 years without air filter, after that i rebuilt open up there is 1mm thick of carbon+sand on the piston. no wonder engine run stronger and stronger hahaha high compression.
engine not yet kong la.. i just taking out the head to do hybrid.

after that i turbocharged it for 2 years now, without air filter only small net. only run on street, dont ever try to drive in sandy road.

use net from the tools that your mother used to filter the flour. less then RM10 with very tiny hole able to filter up bigger object.

i got no choice because of tiny engine room, if u can use filter why not ? hahaha

NA car running with air filter? Lose power alot on low and mid rev due to loss of pressure and velocity. Hi rev also might not gain much unless running on wider / longer cams. One thing for sure, fuel consumption will be higher.

On the contrary for Turbo car, running with air filter will gain faster response and louder spooling sound :P

i've been using a very fine wire mesh as air filter for few months d..almost similiar to filterless liao..so far so good....engine response is superb n sounds superb too..... =))...heheh
