While details may be vague, it’s reported that Ferrari Chairman Luca Cordero di Montezemolo has acknowledged that the replacement for the Ferrari Enzyme will “incorporate the state of the art of our knowledge in terms of increasing performances while reducing fuel consumption and emissions. It will then influence all Ferraris that appear after it.”

Long story made short, that resembles confirmation that the next Enzo will be a hybrid employing a kinetic energy recovery system like the HY-KERS concept that was unveiled.

Cutting down on girth is an integral element in reducing consumption, hence the future Enzo will be smaller in dimensions compared to the current model with the 2007 Millechili concept the closest indication in terms of styling cues.

With an unveiling date set for 2012, we can only sit back and wait as more details regarding the successor to the Prancing Horse’s top dog trickles out over the coming months.
