The manufacturer should have advertised their product like

"Our tyre thread will simply outlast your Car!

and I thought 400 wear rating was high......Based on experience, by ex-tyre tyres rating was 430, and after 4 years use, still retain about 60% thread.
I guess I could still use it for another 2-3 years....OMG

Imagine 600 rating....
Not true. I using ATR Sport with 400tw. I finished it in 9 months. Although its being touge-d many rounds.

Then Achilles TW rating is rubbish!
I used F1 with 300 TW, lasted 3.5yrs/>50k km with occasional aggressive driving. Just got a lot of chipping only.

Post this in another thread......
Threadwear number only an indication, differs on real world application, like car setup, car's power, driver's driving style, routes, road condition, weather and so on. The number by manufacturer are tested under controlled environment.

GY Assy2 bought late 2014, now barely a year or year plus a bit, left 3mm depth from the indicator. I dunno how you guys drive so aggressively and still can last so long.

Bro, 3mm from/above the indicator is still a lot la! I used mine until only like 1mm or less above the indicator in the middle part while the outer part already reached! I also don't drive so aggressively la, just occasional and not so fast also.

Doesn't have the sizes I need and too extreme also. From Federal, only the 595 has my sizes.

3mm is the bare safety limit for thread la. Anything less you will aquaplane. My company obsessed with safety, I learn a lot of these things. In fact I've even had a practical driving session to feel the difference between the different thread depths. Company sponsored event, pretty interesting.

That is true, have been saying after 50% thread worn the wet handling and traction reduces a lot, but not all people think like you. They follow manufacturer TWI thread wear indicator. Some even use until no more thread.......lol

Bro, you're just 3mm tread left, or 3mm above the tread wear indicator? If 3mm above the tread wear indicator then actually still got 6mm total tread depth, so still very good but if just really 3mm tread left left then already even with the tread wear indicator so yeah, pretty marginal already.

Mine last 3.5yrs/>50k km to reach the tread wear indicator on the outer side only while the middle part still got about 3-4mm left (about 0.5-1mm above the tread wear indicator).
