hello everyone, i'm currently driving a proton iswara lmst.. i have been thinking of improving the overall performance, power, handling etc.. i went thru a lot of threads and post, but it seems that nothing much can be done.. heck, even hooking up a zenden strut bar also is impossible.. they said it's not feasible for an iswara.. so far, i have been beautifying the interior only la.. and not to mention a lot of ICE shits inside too..ehehehehe.. i recently purchased something called magic jet.. it's inserted inside the air filter, supposedly to increase power and save fuel.. well, power did improve, but it seems to be drinking my fuel.. still testing it, if it doesnt work, im sending it back

any recommendations and advice? thanks in advance..

p/s: i of course have got limited budget, but well, it can be listed here also to be considered... thanks

well, you can mention what's your priority.like u want better handling more than power?or vice versa?b'coz ur on a tight budget.it wud make things easier..well..
strut bars u can go and check out your local performance shops.they will haf them.
stuff u want to improve performance with are:
-new headers
-better piping size.(ur car is 1.3 rite?so,1.5" - 1.65" will do well)
-better intake system ( air filter of ur choice, open pod or drop in)
basically good flow into ur engine and good flow out will give u a just-nice amount of hp upgrade.

well, maybe more on the power in the meantime? :) sorry bro, i'm a noob and am still learning everyday in car modification...

1) er, what does a header do? :P
2) when u mention piping system, are u talking about the exhaust piping? but it's already modified.. the new modified iswara lmst
3) i'm actually considering this, mind to recommend me what's good and the estimated price?

thanks.. anymore ar?

okay..power u say??hhrmm..
-a header is ur xtractor in other words..hope u know whats that.its the so-called pipes that leads the xhaust gases out, connecting it to ur xhaust pipies below.so when i say a better header..get a low restriction one so ur engine can breathe better.

-er..the exhaust for ur car im not too sure.but if u say its already modified,i think ur talking about the muffler.that which gives out the bassy sound.the muffler is not ur piping.

-go for a K&N injection kit.includes open pod air filter, the whole kit and i think a heat sheild.its to give u a better cold air intake.price?u shud check out the shops that offer this la..i'm not too sure about the price now.. B)

nemore?this can be ur basic set up for a normal hp gain la..
but if u want more?u can go for a turbo engine transplant or try going all out stock engine.

ahhh, i see i see... piping all i dare not touch yet, my car only 8 mths old.. later proton tamau kasi warranty on spare parts... i'll definitely change to open air pod filter though.. thanks thanks.. how bout handling bro? what else can i do besides using those strut bars?

If you have a limited budget, get a set of good coil springs. Since your car is so new, or else wait until your absorber kong only then go for adjustables. :P

springs ar? im looking around also... but it seems that good springs combo with stock absorbers will suck big time.. so that plan might have to be delayed.. ehehehe

btw, for air filter, if i opt for the drop-in type, i can use back the original casing, heat shield and things like that right? i enquired for apexi power intake just now, it seems that the miscellaneous things like adapter and air ram would cost damn kao much also... and yah, how much does an extractor cost? or header? :) thanks

Don't be sad, there're actually many things u can do for Iswara, eg

1. Powerzone products
2. Ultraracing strut bars
3. Titan suspension

spring+stock sucks big time???

=get those KYB RS matching wif springs like Tanabe or koni or even the famous red box kimex...short stroke can adopt oso if u feel ok wif quite a batu ride...

apex'i filter+air ram+adapter cost damn????
c'mmon lar taiko....apexi maaaaaaaaaaaa.....

power/performance = alot money spend

low budget/less money = less power,less performance....

like those stupid dumb ass quotes like "kuasa bertambah minyak jimat sehingga 50%"======WTF!!!!!

oooo, bernard arrr.. wah, u so active in zth one.. ehehehe, me only starting to play car abit abit

hello rasco, may i know how much u paid for the strut bar? u driving iswara ar?

Uuhh...i use those cheapo front strut bar bought from normal accessory shop only <_< ...but still feel cornering improvement lo...feel confidence of more improvement if i install 3 points fender bar from ultra-racing also B) but later lar

iswara front hood damn heavy one...if can get a fibre rubber/ fiber glass one...sure will improve pickup and response ler...but not durable lo :P

magic jet? effective ar hmmmm

Anyway, you can try smaller enhancement first, such as microcompressor, grounding, voltage stabilizer...i did all that already ;)

hehehe, magic jet is okei i guess.. u drive lmst also right? going up slope dam stress right, no power at all.. after i installed that, can climb hill steadily la.. can feel difference..

the other items u just mentioned, can tell me what's the use ar? and around how much?

btw, izzit feasible to change to a 15" rim ar?

Hong Thong dude: DUDE.. you want power or you want fuel consumption? Btw, changing your extractors, 15" rims, open pod filter will make your car drink fuel like water man. I think the lmst extractor is already a good 4-2-1 combo so don't change that. Btw, changing to open pod will void your EON warranty, so don't do that either.

If you want to talk about low budget mods, I think these are the things you should consider :

1. Grounding + voltage stabilizer. Price varies, if you have a look around in the forum, there are people selling it at competitive prices. Like Votech (you need to PM them for price, not supposed to reveal price, but it's very competitive) or KHGUAN DIY voltage stabilizer (RM100 + RM10 for the bracket to hold it properly). There's also a DIY grounding kit going for RM56. This will help your ICE and you'll notice the difference in your lights, aircon and in your ICE overall especially bass.

2. Stabilizer bars : I can't remember Ultraracing pricing, but it's a damn good stabilizer bar tho. You might need to adjust the position of some of the things in your car to install this one. Other than that if you get the accessory shop one, it'll cost around 15 to 100 depending on what material it's made of. Don't install it if your car under warranty. Later EON will say car suspension spoiled becuz of this la etc. etc. Trust me on this one.

3. Regularly clean your Throttle body (TB). I think your car has a prob with that. Clean it every 10,000km or so.

4. Buy good tires for good road grip and use lightweight rims like Volk or OZ Racing rims, etc.

Magic Jet good ah? What exactly is it anyway? I don't dare use it in case it's some kind of additive to help combustion.. later it leaves deposit in my engine I die man.

bro, with your current car, u can't actually feel much power, i agree handling is more important than performance. But having to find cheap struts are useless, ultra racing bars are highly recommended, eventhough i'm not using it, cause i'm kinda scared of when i bang the car, the front bodypart habis.

after changing strut bars, u can forget about suspension for a while, then start for performance. Air filter i would highly recommend apexi power intake, not really expensive 230 plus adaptor adi. If u want, we together go and buy this weekend.

grounding cables and voltage stabilizer, kinda good for u too, but new car i guess u won't feel much difference.

exhaust system? kinda tired to explain this everytime, pm me then see when got time we go yamcha i tell u how.

hi cam? forget about that 1st.

plugs and plug cables, forget about it 1st

1 more thing, exhaust system, air filter, suspension modification will avoid your proton warranty, which is 3 years. I don't know la, but some of my friends say as long as u still go to proton, when wanna claim warranty, change back to stock parts, then they will provide the warranty for u.

izho, my car 1 week no more warranty, but still go under eon service, cause stock air filter...lol, stock spark plugs and stock engine, except for the whole exhaust system.

rims i suggest k-speed should be enough, light weight and nice looking too
