Manufacture year for recon car

I saw one advertisement stating that Japan imported car manufactured in 2003 and registered in 2005 on sale. Does anyone know 2003 stands for recon year or actual manufacture year? Is there a way to know that?

Yes...meaning the car is manufacture year 2003 and only register on the road (either new or use) in year 2005.

So nexttime when you sell the car the dealer will give the price base on year 2003 car...they don't bother whether the car register 2008 or 2010...

Proton once a while will have such "promotion" ...the car is new just OLD BATCH...so price wise it will be cheaper Rm3-6K depend on model...
