"There's no question that China has increased its influence," said Sheng Lijun, a senior fellow at the Institute of Southeast Asian Nations. "So Malaysia is not only concerned with the reduction of tourists but also with its trade with China"
hahahahaha Malaysia is becoming pathetic.

(With Chinese Prime Minister Wen Jiabao scheduled to arrive in Kuala Lumpur next week for the inaugural gathering of the East Asia summit, Malaysia's home affairs minister, Azmi Khalid, flew to Beijing this week to apologize officially for mistreatment of Chinese in Malaysia and try to salvage the country's reputation as a tourist destination. )

the home affairs minister Azmi Khalid is going all the way there just to "mohon maaf"...
:(

Malaysia narrowly averted another diplomatic incident in July when more than 300 tourists from China took offense at drawings on display at Genting Highlands, a casino resort. Although the resort said the drawings were meant only to distinguish their Chinese guests from Muslims, who cannot eat pork, the Chinese staged a sit-in in the hotel lobby that took 40 police officers with dogs to clear
This is interesting. Malaysia... IS pathetic. hahaha

if those brainless officers stop talking cock then things will get better.

chinese are very sensitive over discrimination so just apologise and stop talking cock and punished the culprit then things will be fine...

You don't want to fuck around with China these days. You stand more to lose than they do if they don't like you. I'm just glad at least some of our ministers realise that.

As the world is slowly merging it is all the more important that we learn and study the cultures and customs of our neighbours. The very basics at least. We don't want to offend people out of ignorance. It's bad enough if it occurs at our level what more at the level of the powers that be.

Tourism is part of it. If China government take further actions in the international trade then Msia will suffer more. Last time when China stop buying the palm oil because of the dispute over the railway contract by msia(msia agreed to award the contract to them but suddenly gave to our lovely putera company), our palm price falling like hell....there are still alot of economy activities in china but if they decided to cut it off then alot of our businessmen will have big problem.

As msia already not in good relation with US, we cant afford to offend another biggest trading partner in the world.Current immigration/investment policies already making those taiwanese and japanese to flee our country. In the end, msia may end out without any friends but with bunch of enemies around the world.

Ofcourse, those politicians still think its nothing becoz they are enjoying benefits ripped off from the fellow msians who struggling to survive with bad econ...the great revenue from the oil export.....

I will never vote BN in my life...

You know what, this issue could have been resolved simply by apologizing, taking action against those at fault and ensuring that it doesn't happen again, but, no, some politicians had to open his mouth to say somethings which he need not say.

The end result? An unsolved case and retaliation from the public, both locally and internationally. For goodness sake, is this necessary? Please, for once, do what is right. I know the elections are round the corner, but just just do things right for once. We don't need more bad apples to further spoil the country's already spoilt image.

I would say our government are not stupid as many people have claimed. Is just that some stupid idiots doing something aint suppose to do.
I would half agree on that. However, the "some stupid idiot" is enough to damage the whole country. I mean, look at our country. We've been stagnant for so many years. I'm sure we are all not saying ALL of them are stupid. Just that the amount of stupid people who runs the country is enough to make the country stay still.

im sure our Government are doing what is needed to resolve the problems, but about the issue of them bringing those who responsible for the incident. I doubted it would actually happen.
