Isuzu Malaysia’s network of local dealers have rallied together to raise RM22,000 in aid of the victims of the earthquake in Japan. The funds gathered was handed over to a representative from the Malaysian Red Crescent Society (MRSC), who will in turn hand it over to the Japanese Red Crescent Society to be used in relief efforts.

“Some scenes that played on television and those captured in the newspapers were too moving to ignore. It really touched them that the simple people who made their living near the sea had their lives and homes destroyed in such a devastating manner,” said Takashi Hata, Chief Executive Officer of Isuzu Malaysia.

The funds were handed over by Hata to Datuk Haji Noordin Haji Abdul Razak, the Secretary General of the MRSC, during a simple ceremony in Kuala Lumpur recently.

“One of the hallmarks of the efforts by the Malaysian Red Crescent Society is to see people of various ethnic and social backgrounds who continually support relief efforts regardless of the tragedy or where it happens. It is this sense of monumental humanitarian desire to help the faceless victims that make our cause such a rewarding one,” said Noordin on receiving the funds.
