idea to use a horn driver as siren for car alarm
this way the thief will get a shock !!

anyone know where i can get one, want to use for experiment
20-50W second hand or new as cheep as possible.

are u talking about the old car alarm technology?? older cars alarm uses horn as their siren...

this is not so appropriate bcos it wil shorten the life of the horn itself... and it also drain quite a lot of current from de battery... if ur alarm is making noise for a period of time... ur battery may be dead already...

u can wire the horn to work with the alarm. Just a matter of wiring a relay to the horn and to the car alarm siren...

some newer alarm have 45 seconds of alert. its like blowing your horn for 45 seconds each time. still adviseable then using all those normal alarm siren as nobody really bother to look or check. if someone horn like 45 seconds sure everybody will go out their hiouse and see and marah that horn-er :P

Myvi has the 'horn-as-siren' system as well

y not use a resistor to reduce the sound volume a bit?? like 20db ??

new cars like camry o accord has horn which connect wit alram..if onli the alrm triggered...which means when u press ur alarm remote there wont be an horn sound..

if u wanna directly wire ur current alram 2 horn...tat means each time u press ur alram remote...there will be siren beep n also horn 'beep'....i think tat sucks...

ya..it will be too loud...and if someone trigger ur alarm, ur battery will be drain by the horn since it drain a lot of power
