Hi, im planning to get a bucket or semi bucket seat for my ride(wira) and would like to know how to pick one and what else i need alongside the seat. Im kinda clueless about this and hopefully someone could guide my things that i would need in completing this setup.

Afaik(i might be wrong), i need a seat, base, and the railing. Im not sure what kinda seat, railing, and base should i get and where to get it from. Hope someone could shine a light on this. Thank you.

You want fixed bucket or semi bucket where the back can lean?

Once you decide find one that can support your weight and size

After that get the base and the slider/railing so you can adjust the seat and bolt it down to your Wira mounting points. Base mounts the seat to the chassis, the slider allows front/back movement

And you're done. Personally if it's a daily driver get a semi bucket. Then depending on your budget and body size, choose the Recaro or Bride or whatever of your choice. If possible test fit and test sit these seats before buying especially if you're a big guy like me. I find SR3 Recaros a little tight on the side bolster side. Brides are all a bad fit for me. SR6 Recaros are great.

Okay, so I would go with semi bucket since im gonna daily drive the car. Btw, semi bucket seats will be better than wira se seats(the one with red stripe) in terms of being more 'buckety' (which means the seat will somesort hug me) since that is the main reason im planning to change the seats.

The base and railing will be provided alongside the seat or I have to find somewhere else(different manufacturer for that)?

My budget will be around 1k. Can i get recaro or bride within that budget? btw, u meant the original ones or the replicas? Whats your take on the replicas? Is it alright?

Thank you :wavey:

Sure, guess I have to test the seats first. You have any suggestion where I could go and survey about those seats in penang?

Wira SE seats are not semi-bucket or anything. Just sporty looking seats. With that kinda budget though, you're looking at the Recaro NJoy at best and personally if you're looking for body hugging, you probably can forget about it.

This fella selling 300++ and it looks like it's a Wira/Satria so should be PNP for your Wira. But it's not great for support. Better than the Wira SE seats but not great.

If you can bump up the budget I'd look at these :

https://www.mudah.my/Seat+bucket+recaro+evo7-61171400.htm

But you'd need to modify the base or you can opt to buy these :

https://www.mudah.my/Railing+recaro+wira-61052142.htm
https://www.mudah.my/Railing+RECARO+EVo+plugplay+Proton-61068513.htm

But personally this is my choice purely because of my size and how freaking comfortable this is :

On the topic of comfortable - I'd avoid fake seats. Generally they are just extra padded normal seats and generally they are uncomfortable. I'd rather you buy SSCUS seats. They are within your budget (new!) and are better than fakes in terms of comfort and support. They aren't on the same level as Bride, Recaro, Sparco, etc but they are great budget entry level seats.

https://www.mudah.my/Seat+bucket+sscus-61319235.htm

This guy rewrapped his seats to Recaro cloth - very good. Better than the stock PU type seat.

https://www.mudah.my/Sscus+sport+seat+EURO+PU+STAR310+VIPER611+tapak-61285403.htm

This guy sells the slider and base plus install with the seat for 1400. But you can probably buy the base and slider used for about RM350 to RM450 and then one used SSCUS seat for RM380 to 500. Well within your budget.

I actually have SSCUS seats for sale but my friends have booked them for the moment otherwise I'd offer them to you.

Yeah i dont like the njoy since its not something thats hugging. I could bump up to 1.5 k but not till 2.7 k for the recaro evo 7 nor the sr6.

Sounds like sscus are the best best if im gonna avoid the fake ones since the originals are outta my budget. So yeah, ill try finding sscus seats, and will go look around if i could try sitting on it to see if im comfortable with it.

Btw, i really appreciate the part where u helped me to find stuffs in mudah and a good explanation. Thank you.

One other place to buy is Recaro FB groups. Go there and have a look there, they are cheaper than Mudah. If you don't mind second hand - used Recaros aren't too bad and most times only need a bit of cleaning.
