Kimi Raikkonen got close to Heikki Kovalainen's new lap record set yesterday, but fell short by less than two-tenths of a second with a best lap of 1:11.189s in his Ferrari F2008. Kovalainen was right on the pace again today at the Valencia circuit, lapping just 0.017s slower than the defending world champion.
Backing up the solid pace showed all week by Ferrari, Felipe Massa set the third fastest time while Williams Toyota impressed again, this time with Kazuke Nakajima behind the wheel of the new FW30 and fourth fastest after 116 laps.
Lewis Hamilton set the fifth fastest time in the second McLaren just ahead of Robert Kubica in the new BMW Sauber. Jarno Trulli upped the pace for Toyota with the seventh fastest time ahead of Sebastian Vettel in the leading Toro Rosso Ferrari, Nick Heidfeld in the 2007-spec BMW Sauber and Timo Glock in the second TF108.
Giancarlo Fisichella joined the Force India team for the final day of running, posting an encouraging 11th best time ahead of Nelson Piquet Jr, who tried out the new Renault R28 for the first time today and Sebastien Bourdais in his STR2.
Mark Webber had a tough day in his new Red Bull Renault, putting in a paltry 15 laps before the team called a halt to proceedings.

Nico Hulkenberg was next up in the Toyota-powered FW29 while Jenson Button and Takashi Kogure brought up the bottom of the timesheets in the Honda RA108 and RA107 respectively.
