hello.. my car is a 97' Pajero IO 1.8 GDI (4g93, auto).. having problems like burning oil, losing power, unstable idle rev and severe tappet noise..

the mechanic who inspected my car told me to look for spare parts like gasket, pist rings, rad hose and timing belt/pulley/tensioner etc.. to execute an overhaul.. (he said parts are rare???)

pls advice regarding the sourcing of parts, halfcut or rather engine change?

my descriptions are rather vague but can anyone thow light on how much budget can i expect?
