Anybody has encountered problems when they install EK9 anti roll bar on a EJ 4 -door chasis where the EK9 anti roll bar is knocking against the back suspension lower arm after installation. Please advise.

Bro,

EK9 ARB is way 2 thick for local EJ 4dr rear lower chassis. U might wanna strengthen that part 2 put da EK9 ARB. It's known to tear that part under certain condition. Ask ur mechanic 2 check it again.

Wak..tats scary. Anyone has experienced or used an EK ARB on an EJ 4 door before. The bar is knocking the rear arm maybe becos my Car is too low. Its only about '1 finger spacing" from the tyres & the wheel arch.

Wah, why did u put EK9 rear ARB in the 1st place, unless you're a regular touge man, or SIC wannabee, no need la bro.

But if you still insist on installing 'em, then like JINEIL2EN said, better check the installation, is it correct or not, And your endlinks, in good condition or not ( since EK9's rear ARB is 21 or 22 mm, I forgot ) as the force from the larger ARB is a lot more than standard ARB.

And cOOlric is correct oso, you must reinforce the mounting area via installing some sort of aluminium plate, I don't think it's locally available here, and it's not available at SG oso. You have to order 'em from the States, brand A-Spec Racing ( ASR ) is currently one of the best ones available.

indeed, david. You gotta reinforce the mounting point at the bracket area before you put it on or your chasis will be torn in no time. My friend put it on 4drs before and found out that the chasis was cracked later.

What about EK4's ARB? More suitable?

What about the EK4's rear ARB...it's 16mm I think (type-r is 22mm). Anyway, the front EJ 4 door ARB is about 22mm. So the EK4's rear ARB is a better choice because if too much stiffness in the rear would cause oversteer. And also not so damaging to the rear frame...just my 2 cents

Anyone out there wants to sell their EK4 type or swap their EK4 with my EK9 + RM100.

Actually it can be install by upside down, but u hav to put it up most on the chasis bracket by drilling 4 new holes to bolt it in place. Most of my friends hav done it and its ok. I myself oso will be installing it soon. Yes its being proof to tear the chassis if u don't put it upside down or following the type- r order of installation.. cheers Bro!!!!!!!!!!!

hello,

which rear arb to use for Ek3? the engine is D15B..

btw, the front has ARB already????

also, wht is the price like? thanks.

Hi ARtnet,

EK4 rear ARB should b more than enuf 4 da EK3 chassis. Unless u gonna get da A-Spec Racing ( ASR ) subframe reinforcement braces for most of the popular Honda vehicles. These strengthen your subframe, preventing it from tearing behind the mounting hardware of a large-diameter sway bar by enlarging the contact region between the two as well as limiting torsional force on the subframe sheet metal.

i just need an anti roll bar tht fits and works.. no need hardcore one.

no track purpose. EK4's is direct plug and play? TQ

i'm using type-r antiroll bar for my front, mine is EJ 4door...
any problem with that? if there is, any advice to resolve my matter?
thanks in advance

yes, EK4 ARB is plug and play on local EJ.

david, basically you can use the EK9 but you gotta drill new mounting point for the EK9 ARB:

Wow looks good man, did some research and most of them recomend just an additional metal plate bracket at the back of the existing U bracket to brace the chasis. BTW the ASR wil cost about USD256 a pop.
