Guys! Any offshore oil and gas brother sister here??
come share ur experience and maybe we can gather for some tt session or something..

bro.. perhaps .. u can share with us ur experience.. i believe it would give us some idea's on the offshore life . .

Well.. do u need to be highly qualified to join the offshore industry? ( sorry for the lame question) as i overlooked a paper cuttin last time regarding and openin for offshore vacancies..

turn out it was fake ...

yah, offshore engineers are highly paid.... thus, they need to have good qualifications as well....

they work for few months offshore for few months non-stop (means didnt come back mainland la)... after that, they get a long break....

working offshore is high risk.... thus, highly paid.... an offshore engineer can earn around rm5k per month as starting salary... normal engineer only about rm2.5k as starting salary...

sounds... good!! ..
hehehe.. i wonder wat bout entertainment..
i heard the food os awesomely superb!! .. cun gila gila ..

hahaha.... entertainment, food and accomodation is one of the lousiest there.... dont expect so much when u working abroad... haha...

they paid in RM? i dont think so, all platforms are paid in USD... some are paid EURO... even petronas dagang pays in USD.

and u save a lot during the months there, you dont buy stuffs cos practically there is nothing for you to buy in the middle of sea. what u get is great experiance, boredom, home sick, great money and when you cum back u see girls like you see water ehehehheheheh :p

yep...heard that they pay in USD.... highly paid, but u need to work for a few months dere and didn't have the chance to go to the mainland. No girls, all males, entertainment is lousy, no fun, ....thus i don think u have time for entertainment, cos u too tired after working for so long hours....

i have a frend who is a diver at those offshore oil rigs.... he need to dive down to repair/check the pipping below the oil rigs.... he say that the money is good but when u down dere, if u are eaten by shark, no body will know cos the water is too dark, no sunlight...even u put ur hand in front of ur face, u can't even see it... :)

p/s: when u go back to the mainland and see those gals, u r like RUsa masuk kampong....hehehe

seriously, if u cant see your own hand when it's right infront of your face, how are you going to repair the pipings ?

i think he was explainin on the water condition down there....

im sure they got super halogen lights while their doin the work..

hmmmm.. skywalker..
u got experience there?
lolz... no experience at all... i'm not even an engineer now.... currently studying electronics engineering.... havent even graduate... hahaha...

Work in .MY is not a good idea cuz most of the people under paid. But rarely got a chance to work oversea if you don't start in .MY . Engineer doesn't mean need to go offshore. Some are working in town. About the pay, don't expect too much. Average only can get RM4-7k. I struggle with this type of pay over 7 years. But 3 years back I transfer to US then can get something different in currency. If you are young, don't joint oilfield if posible. The time you lost, $$ cannot buy back. Don't think about entertainment. What you can do is just watching porno and play with gojo.

im not an offshore employee, but i have friends that work offshore. ROV engineers, and commercial diver. Pay is good, but you will suffer for a bout 30-60 days. 12 hour shift work, under the high temeprature. Not something which everyone can take it, especially commercial diver.

heh...i think u guys are talking about NDT engineers...Non Destructive Testing....what a coincidence...im about to become one of em....hehehe....right now completed two course Magnetic Particle and Ultrasonic Inspector....both level II....shay & escaflowne...u guys mention ur working onshore and offshore...are you guys an inspector as well?i would like to hang out with fella ndt'ian once i get back home....and yes guys....most company pays in USD....close fren of mine who's in this industry got paid like £300 a day as a welding/penetrant inspector....which is why i myself is going into this line of job....pays damn good....sometime u just shake leg waiting for job...and get paid for that...hehehe

i actually heard that shell's offshore plan goes like this:

2weeks onshore
2weeks break
thatsit, keep repeating, i guess its alright isit it, compared to 2/3months on shore
