actually

SS1: is lower spec (come with 1ZZFE engine abt ~145BHP)
SS2: Higher spec (comes with 2ZZGE engine abt 180BHP) this will have 2 options (Mcpherson and Super strut packages, super strut is said to have better handling, also it has the option of 4 speed auto, 5 & 6 speed manual transmissions, if im not mistaken the 6speed one got Helical LSD)

TRD or M sport is just for the aftermarket tuning kits (body kit, performance parts, spoilers...etc)

dont confuse him on McPherson strut la. Most cars out there are with McPherson strut
(its the design aspect of its suspension, & its not a brand of strut for celica).

nothing confusing about 7th gen celica. just remember it as ZZT231, as whfan linked on wiki.

McPherson strut
In this suspension layout, the wheel is located by a lateral control arm (usually a triangulated wishbone) below wheel centre by a suspension strut and an additional tie rod. The advantages of this layout are low unsprung mass, a broad support base, low forces and space-saving design. Named after its inventor, the McPherson suspension has been continually developed over the decades since it first appeared and is now the standard layout for a large number of cars up to the midsize category.

besides McPherson strut design, there are several other designs for different cars;
1) Double-wishbone suspension,
2) trailing-link double wishbone suspension (LDQ axle),
3) multi-link rear suspension,
4) trapezoidal-link rear suspension,
5) torsion-crank rear suspension, four-link front suspension.)

why toyota celica have so many type?

Yeah I agree, I wish Toyota would have just stuck with a couple variations instead of making so many different kits. Anyway, as mentioned above... when doing a search just look for either zzt231 or zzt230
