so here the check list to convert to dohc :

what we need :
DOHC head (duh..)
distributor
gasket and other thing
timing belt come in set but better check the conditions

cost : As firiana_2198 quoted..around 700 + belanja him nescafe,around 700 somethin. :P

so,how about performance?i heard that we must change the ECU and clutch plate..or can we just use standard?or blue box exedy?the F/C?pick up?top?

and how about the wiring?is it have to change?or can stick to old wiring?

thanks bro..this tread really help..for those who want to convert to dohc..

last questions can ar firiana_2198? :D ?i already ask my mechanic..he say everything can be done but have slight problem with the timing belt..he says that the belt will not match because using blok 4g92p and head 4g91..the belt gigi will lari..what timing belt are you using..

if change to mivec head without changing wiring or ecu mivec can open meh? didnt know just change the head can liow

Just get a new timing belt for 4G91 DOHC... last time my friend wanna convert, the mech ask him get all the pulleys from 4G91 too... tensioner, crank pulley.... cause the tension and belt length diff...?

firiana_2198, did u change the pulleys?

i've heard many ppl said 4G92 SOHC cannot change to MIVEC HEAD... i dunno liao... i'm newbie... anyone can confirm this statement... ;)

Good ol Mitsi... can hybrid everything from top to bottom... as long as it's 4G9X series...

and i suggest to anyone who wanna do the SOHC - DOHC conversion to do full wiring conversion too... it'll cost more but it's SAFER! hybrid wirings are known to be problematic after a while. (major sh*t!)

Always do a complete setup... it'll save you on the repair bills later, and days ur car gonna be in the garage.

Chiku - MIVEC head can be mounted on 92P, as long as the wiring is complete. That's why there are MIVEC 1.8 running around...

Cheers!

can, why cannot.. just get a shift light or and RSM.. go to a reputable wiring shop and they can settle everything for u.. however, its not as good as the ori mivec as the mapping is not optimize for the variable timing.. rechipping ur ECU or pluging a piggyback should be feasible..

if u can get the whole set with wiring and ECU is much beter loo..
